just a reminder to all to check your disney resort bill during checkout very carefully. although it was not a big deal, we noticed that they charged us .75 twice for a 1800 phone call we made from the room. i am still baffled we paid .75 to make a 1800 call (to delta airlines), but when we asked the front desk about it they CM said it is common to be billed twice for those types of calls...just keep your eyes open, that could add up quick!

I got double charged for a MouseGears purchase once. It was quickly fixed.

It is fairly common for hotels to charge an access fee to reach an 800# - however being billed 75 cents twice (for one call) does seem odd.

We always get a copy of the bill the night before we leave so we can check it for any problems.

We were once double charged( charges posted after we had checked out) and several months later received a check in the mail from Disney.

Make sure to check Disney's billing on your credit card statement.
My mother came home from Disney's Caribbean Beach to find the resort had billed her for someone else's trip. It was a charge for over $2000.00!!!

Apparently the person they didn't bill had the same last name and also lived in Canada but had checked in around the same time as my mother did. Thankfully Amex was great in disputing the charges. Someone obviously checked this other family in under her name. It was a hassle to work out.

Why doesn't disney allow you to view your bill through the TV like many other hotels? This would allow you to resolve disputes before check out and you would not have to go to the front desk and ask for a current copy of the bill. Is it simply a matter of Disney trying to save a few dollars by not having the programming?

That's one thing the Swan/Dolphin resorts DO have!

We've learned to always check our bill periodically during our stay.
There have been numerous double charges from restaurants, for the same amounts and same date/time.:earseek:
Plus, we were even triple charged for a mickey waffle-iron because we had a new CM in the MK. The mgr kept saying that she voided the other sales, but being in retail myself, I knew she hadn't as she couldn't give me an accurate invoice!

Also, be careful of valet parking charges and sometimes they will even double bill you for that!
(hehehe! One time we were charged for valet and we didn't even have a car on that trip!) LOL!

Remember....it's a computer world, but there is a thing called human error. Not intential, but it does happen!

To check your bill periodically during the stay, is it as simple as going to the front desk and asking for a copy whenever you want? Sounds like a good idea to do this after reading the previous posts. Thanks, Karen

It seems that we are ALWAYS overcharged for phone fees at DW. I keep a list of what I charge to my card and my phone calls so I know what to look for. This time we were only overcharged by one phone call and I let it pass as my time (cheap as it is) is worth more than the 75 cents. Is a small amount of magic that is missing though as the bill is your last interaaction before leaving.

ouch!!!

can you get one after the vaca is over?

we have been back a week and didnt think to review the paper we didnt make any phone calls or anything???

Right now, Disney's property management software dates back to 1980. Because of the extreme (and I do mean extreme) complexity of the software, it's not as if they can just upgrade to a more modern version that can interface with the TV to do what you ask. However, the new program is in the works. It's taken a 5 years, and a few different companies (the first one gave up, and dropped it, after realizing it was too complex and big for them). But, it's almost done now, and will be debuting in the next year. From what I am to hear through the rumor mill, the Contemporary will be the first resort to have the "Bill on TV" option.
