I have seen pic's of the "standing" option. They sort of strap you to a wall. Kind of like that carnival ride that spins real fast w/ people strapped to the outside wall.
All these crazy gimic's aside, planes must worry about weight. If they put 200 hundred people, plus their luggage, in a plane designed to currently hold 100, I'd suspect the plane would be to heavy to fly. Currently planes are required to be able to evacuate in 90 seconds (I think it's 90). I can't see that happening w/ these "gimic's"...
That part of the article made me giggle - that someone would try to use "Well, cowboys do it" as a legitimate line of reasoning. Does it mean that people in the 'cowboy' section can rope and hog-tie the business class passengers, too?
Wow. I didn't think they could make flying much more miserable than it is now. I guess I was wrong. Those things look like some sort of modern day torture device.
That lady looks like shes uncomfortable and wants to fall out that chair!! I say No way!! I mean no offense to anyone but how would larger sized passengers fir in these rows let alone these kind of seats All about saving money and not caring about the passengers being comfortable

Yes and even saddles come in different seat designs and sizes. Not to mention the stirrups adjust. I also don't remember ever tilting forward like that!
Maybe you are suppose to put your kids in saddle bags!
In the case of Ryan air they may never use them.
They are already used in some Asian countries, but I don’t expect to see them here.
The CEO of Ryan air likes to put out things like this all the time to get free press.
The only bad press is no press.
When he has discussed this in the past you will get a discount to use the standing seats and it will not be the entire plane, but a portion of the plane.
He is the one that every few months talks about charging to use the bathrooms even though he will probably never do that.
They make for from alcohol than they could charging to go to the bathroom.
People may skip a drink if they have to pay to use the toilet.
BTW: If you have never seen the Alcohol on Ryan air it is the cheapest stuff you will ever see. It actually is served in a baggie.
The sell you a half portion for about 6 Euro, but they run a special by one get one free so you think you are getting a deal.
They Also charge to get on the plane first.
They charge double to check your bag if your carry on does not fit in their test bin.
They charge a fee if you do not use their credit card to pay for your tickets.
They charge for everything, but for a short flight you can't beat the price.
They have opened up flying around Europe to everyone.
When we are in Ireland it is cheaper to fly to Paris for the weekend than to travel around Ireland thanks to Ryan air.
Before Ryan air the only option was Aer Lingus I can remember paying 400 pounds return to London from Dublin.
In the end you will get what you pay for. If you want a flying bus than it is not a bad deal at all.
