Check out www.disney.com and go to book a cruise.......put in the type of sailing you want and the month and it gives you prices and availability of all catagories........I like it!!!
There is of course a problem with the new DCL booking system. I was checking my October 29th sailing for a friend who wants to join us. I wanted to see which category 6 rooms were left. When you get to the confirmation page, it gives you the option of early and late dining. I of course called my TA immediately, since I'm waitlisted for early seating. He then called DCL for me,and early seating is still unavailable and I'm still waitlisted. He told me that DCL said that most likely it's just an option (and it does say preferred dining time) and that you'll just immediately get booked into late dining. Just for the heck of it, I followed it through until the credit card was needed and NO WHERE did DCL indicate that I was being booked into late dining. That could cause MANY problems for people who may think they booked early dining, and didn't get it because it is booked, yet DCL isn't letting people know when they book.
The new interface is nice, but I would love to just put in Apr, 2006 and see ALL cruises for that month -- I don't care about Western or Eastern. List them all, then allow a filter to the type of cruise.
I booked back in July, and haven't been back to the DCL website in a while. I just went there this morning (to look at the holiday postcards), and I love it!! I think it's more user-friendly, and it puts you in a little more control than before. I wasn't aware that it was a BRAND new thing...since it's been such a while since I've been back there.
I like it too, but I wish they would give suite information, too. I'd love to know availability and/or price without having to call. Even if you couldn't book them online, it would be nice to have the information.
Budwmn.....you were never able to book cat. 1-3's off the site.
Jel0511.....We had 1st seating on our 1st sailing Feb. 2000. We were disappointed when we couldn't get it on our second sailing. We had the second and we "asked" for the second on sailings 3,4 and 5. We prefer it.
LAMPSKIES -- I realize that it's never been an option to book suites on-line, but it sure would be nice.
We were on the waitlist for a suite for my last trip. An agent suggested that I call several times a week to check availability. I did and got a great mid-ship Cat. 3. DCL never called regarding the waitlist. If I hadn't checked, I wouldn't have had the cabin.
Having said that, it sure would have been easier to check on-line, than to have to call DCL and sit on hold several times a week!

Thanks, but traveling with a 7 YO and 4YO at time of sailing Early Seating is really necessary. My TA said that most likely it will come through, I just hate this waiting!

Don't be so sure, my 4 and 6 year old last year did MUCH better with late seating and we booked it for this year's cruise. I think late seating is one of the best kept secrets on the ship!

I also see you're from OK, so you're at least 1 hour behind ship time when you arrive so that's 7:30 for your body clock. My kids would be fine with that, but they also REALLY enjoy all the activities in the clubs at night. Late seating would make it a more rushed experience for them, and I don't think they would like it then. I do agree that 6PM is too early, I hated always having to rush back to the room around 5PM to get everyone bathed and dressed for dinner, but finishing dinner around 9:30, would just be too late for all of us!!!! Hopefully early dining will come through for us, if not, we'll make the best of it. Maybe we'll come out of it LOVING late dining, we'll just have to wait and see!!!!
