If your plane doesn't leave until say three or four pm, I was just wondering if you still hang around your resort or go to the parks if you have to check out by eleven? Can the resort hold onto your luggage for you after you check out? How many hours before your flight does the Magical Express pick you up? What do you all do if you have a later flight? :confused3

We always schedule a late flight back home say around 8:00PM. We normally check out by 9:00AM and leave our luggage at the hotel. Then we jet off to a park or last minute shopping at DTD and then do lunch around 3:00 PM. Can't answer your ME question as we always do a limo transfer.

I am a person of the belief of taking the latest flight home possible. Last Dec. our plane didn't leave MCO until 9:47 PM - other flights have been 6-7 PM. It is tradition that we spend as much time as possible of the last day at MK - we start and finish our vacation there. Upon checking out, we leave our luggage in the luggage hold area and have never had a problem. ME generally picks you up about 2.5 hours prior to your flight departure and have always had more than enough time to check in and get through security and have had time to sit and wait for our boarding call.

Hope this info helps :goodvibes

The ME will pick you up 3 hours before your flight. I store my luggage, check out and go to the parks too.

Magical Express will pick you up about three hours before your flight - give or take fifteen minutes.

You will need to be at the pickup location fifteen minutes prior to that time.

If you have left anything with Bell Services, you should plan to be back at your resort at least an additional fifteen minutes prior to that - longer if it's a busy check in/out day.

And if you've gone to a park, you need to allow an hour to get back to the resort - less, of course, if your park is convenient to your resort.

For a 3 PM flight, you should expect to be at your resort by 11:30; so leave whatever park you're at by 10:30

thank you all, sounds good (I think I may schedule an even later flight though!) So just to make sure I understand, you can check out of your hotel early (say 7am), leave your bags with the front desk, go out to a park, and then you come back to the same hotel three hours before the ME picks you up? Do you have to retrieve your bags or are they automatically put on the ME for you?

Depends on what airline your taking. I don't remember all of them, but if you take Delta, United, Northwest, or AirTran you don't have to mess with your luggage (they just magically vanish!). With the other ones, the ME bus driver will put them on the bus for you.

YOU will need to claim anything you left with Bell Services and bring it to the bus. Reasonably, Bell Services can't be expected to guess which stored luggage belongs to whom and on which bus.

Now, a Cast Member will, once you claim your luggage, assist you with getting it to the DME pickup area; as always, it is customary to tip anyone who handles your luggage.

But Marty Joe is right - if you are flying home on a participating airline, you can check your luggage through straight from your resort to your home airport.

We need our luggage to go ME but we are renting a car will the luggage go if we don't get on the bus??? We are flying Northwest and didn't want to have to come back to the hotel after we checked out. Do we need to make sure the luggage makes the right bus? Our flight is at 6pm. ANy info would be greatly appreciated.

If you are renting a car, you should be taking your luggage in the car with you. If it won't fit, you need to rent a larger car. Magical Express luggage transfer is for Guests riding Magical Express.

ME will not transfer bags without you on the bus. They will pick you up 3 hours prior to your flight. To the OP, we like to do MK on the last day. Think about having an extra set of clothes handy in one of your suitcases so you can change prior to the flight. We do this just in case... or if we get wet on Splash. Have a great time.

Oh well that is good to know. I called Disney and the CM said yes they would. They stated that was a service offered for all guests staying at a Disney resort even if only the luggage went. Do you think I got the wrong answer? We were going to send our luggage only because we have 3 kids 4 and under plus 3 car seats. It was going to be very hard for us to push 2 stollers and carry 3 carseats let alone pull to suitcases. That was all we were thinking. Oh well must have gotten the wrong info.

Are you talking about coming or going?

Flying in to Orlando, Magical Express is not intended to transport just the Guest's luggage. Any Disney resort Guest is eligible to use Magical Express and its luggage delivery feature (i.e. not either/or, but both).

Going home, anyone flying on a participating airline can check their luggage through to their home airport and check in for their flight at the Resort Airline Checkin counter at their resort - then use any mode of transportation to get themselves to the airport.

Any given Cast Member is well-versed in the area in which they work - for example, Dining CMs know, or should know, everything about dining reservations, restaurants, etc; room reservations CMs should know everything about room reservations.

To get the absolute, definitive answer on Magical Express, the Guest would need to call DME directly - there's a toll-free number on Disney's website, and in one or more 'sticky' threads on the Transportation board.

We just slept in and and stayed at the hotel, we didnt want to feel rush at the parks ( but me was getting us around 2 pm or so)
