Our airplane departs about 6:00 pm on check out day. What do you recommend for lunch before we depart with DME to the airport? We are staying onsite and have the Disney Dining Plan so a TS credit would be fine to use.

Where are you staying? Will you have a park ticket for that day or are you looking for something at a resort or DS?

I am getting brunch at Trails End on my last day.
Getting two types of holiday food in one hit.
Early enough to fit in some last minute shopping.

I honestly would head to DS walk around a bit check out the stores and other sites. They have many good CS and TS restaurants in DS... I personally really like Raglan, Paradiso, Edison, Planet.... Boathouse and Morimoto are really good if you're okay with paying a bit more.

We love lunch at Sanaa at AKL, and you can enjoy the resort and looking at the animals also.

Staying at All Star Sports and no park ticket for this day so resort or DS suggestions.

I agree with this. OP, using Disney transportation, DS will be the easiest to get to for lunch. I would take a look at the menus CalSea12 has suggested and see what appeals!

Just keep in mind that Disney Springs transportation during the daytime isn't the fastest or most frequent. If your flight is at 6pm, DME pick up will be roughly 3pm. I'd probably want to leave Disney Springs by 1:30 which would give you time to wait for the bus, commute back to your resort, pick up any carry on bags, and be at the DME stop 15 minutes prior (which is required). Disney Springs opens at 10am but I think many of the restaurants don't open until 11am. If you are going to do TS, I would plan to do it right around the time they open so you aren't rushing anything. There's also a few good brunch spots, as mentioned.

Where do they tell you all of the DME info because I didn’t know any of that. Thanks!

You will receive a letter in your room the day prior advising of your pickup time

international flights 4 hours early
domestic 3 hours early
at times domestic will also be 4 hours. This is during periods of heightened security and the airport will also advise being early

if you miss your bus, they might be able to fit you on another. But if it’s fully booked, you will be on your own.

PP is correct - if you've added DME to your reservation, they will hang a letter on the door to your room the day before your check-out day with your pick up time. Its roughly 3 hours before your flight time (domestic), give or take 15 minutes. The letter will also strongly suggest you be at your resort's DME bus stop 15 minutes prior to your scheduled pick-up time. You can use Resort Airline Check-In for any checked luggage, but if you are carrying anything on the plane, you can store that with bell services at your resort while you do other things and you'd just need to pick it up before boarding DME.

Often, if people only have a carry on purse/shoulder bag/backpack, they will choose to keep it with them and just get an Uber/Lyft and go to the airport straight from Disney Springs (or wherever). It saves roughly 90 minutes because you don't need to allow time for Disney transportation back to your resort.

Sanaa at Ak over looks the savannah so you could see the animals and the AK Lodge resort is BEAUTIFUL and fun to check out.
Chef Mickey is always fun even though the food is good to average.
Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs has WONDERFUL food and is a beautiful restaurant

Your resort will hold your luggage {in case that has not been addressed :) }

Sanaa is a good choice but a long way from the All Stars.
Agree with going to Disney Springs.
Have enjoyed Raglan Road and Polite Pig among many other good options there.

Sanaa isn’t far from the All Stars geographically but would be complicated to travel to & from if you’re depending on Disney transportation. You’d take the bus from All Stars to AK and then another bus from AK to AKL-Kidani, where Sanaa is. The bus trips aren’t long, but the waits for them can be! If you could take Uber/Lyft, it would be much quicker.

I was thinking of Pop Century and Art of Animation.
Sports is not that far.

We normally do a later (10 or 1030) character breakfast on departure day. Last week we did breakfast at Cape May. We ended up finishing up earlier than expected (we checked in about 20 min early), and walked over to Fantasia Gardens for a round of mini-golf before heading out.

Weve done Disney Springs in the past, when we had a late flight. Good way to use up snack credits at Goofy's Candy shop too, to bring home. Bad thing is the luggage is already gone, so anything you buy is now a carryon!

We’ve done Beaches and Cream the last two trips since we stayed in the Epcot area. The boardwalk is a nice area to kill some time too.

What can you get at Goofy's Candy shop with snack credits? Good idea!
