Check my math: Half board at Disneyland Hotel

I'm planning a trip to DLP in Summer 2025 and we're splurging to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. I plan on doing a table service restaurant each day (so far we've booked Chez Remy, Captain Jack, and Royal Banquet dinner on a 3 night stay) so the Half Board plan sounds like a good idea. However, since the Half Board plan is priced super high for the Disneyland Hotel, it seems that you only "break even" if you do a character dinner every night.

Has anyone else done the math?

What are the prices you are paying? These 3 tables services are probably about 220 euro p/p.

What are you quoted for the hotel and for the mealplan?

I’d probably only get the half board plan at the DLH if I planned on maximising the value there, eating at the more expensive restaurants. Otherwise, it’s probably cheaper to pay OOP. Especially the case if you otherwise wouldn’t plan on having an expensive buffet breakfast each morning.

I’ve found it’s a similar thing in WDW - the DDP isn’t worth it for us normally because we don’t only eat at the more expensive one credit restaurants.

Ok - so here's my calculations - this is for half board for 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 10 and 6). For Captain Jack and Chez Remy, I took the cost of the set menu.

Ok, so half board is breakfast included and then lunch or dinner for about 1.400 euro, which is 350 euro p/p.
Let's make it 450 euro for adults and 250 for children.
Meaning for 3 nights, you would have to spend 150 euro per night for the adults. and about 85 euro for the children.
Which can be broken down further to 75 euro per meal for the adults and 45 euro for the children.

Results:
Yes, in your situation, you do need character meals to break even on the half board meal plan for the Disneyland Hotel.
