Check my bag or carry on?

So my husband and I leave tomorrow for our anniversary/ honeymoon trip at 3pm (YAAAAAY) and I thought I would get some opinions from you all ab luggage...

This is our first time staying on property and I like how disney will take your checked luggage to your room for you. My husband is probably most excited about this lol. He is checking his luggage and isn't nervous about it arriving or anything. I on the other hand, have had my baggage lost more times than I care to remember. I swear I'm jinxed. And one time my baggage was never found (thank u Southwest.) Everything I need for the week fits into my carry on suitcase, so I'm trying to decide if I want to risk the airlines losing my baggage, or play it safe and lug it around with me Ike I usually do. I just bought new clothes for this trip and would be beyond peeved if I had to buy new stuff when I got there because the airline messed up again (I have done this three times).

We are flying roundtrip with Jet Blue (who Ive always had good experiences with) and our arrival/departure days are straight flights, no layovers. Am I just being too paranoid, should I take advantage of the free service offered by Disney? Also, Jet Blue lets you have one free checked bag. Just curious to see how many people here choose to do carry on instead of checking baggage. Lol I don't even get nervous over the flying part, just when I check bags I do.

If it will give you piece of mind, just carry on your bag. Bell services at your hotel will hold it for you so you can get to the parks asap!

Edited: Just noticed that it is your honeymoon. Carry on for sure- you have enough to worry about!

Congrats and Enjoy!

I have flown Jet Blue 25 times since Dec 2006 and they have never lost my luggage.

When we fly as a family I always put some of everyone's clothes in each bag so if we did have a lost bag one person wouldn't be without clothes. I also have one change of clothes for everyone in my carryon.

I am going on my first solo trip next Wednesday. I thought about doing just carry on but I worry that I won't find space for it on the plane and I'll be forced to check it. I don't want to check my carry on suit case so I'm leaning toward just using my bigger checked bag. I've got a seat pretty far up front but didn't pay for an extra room seat so I'll be one of the last ones allowed to board. I'm packing this weekend. If I can fit it all in a carry on maybe I'll change to the even more room seats to get early boarding.:rotfl:

We always try to carry on when DH and I fly without kids. But we pack light.

If you carry on and keep it to a rolling bag plus a backpack or handbag, with no layovers, it should be fairly hassle free.

Did you know that ME will take your bag from you when you get to the bus? From there you will have to wait for it to be unloaded from the cargo when you get to your hotel. However, you can roll it to the baggage desk and ask them to bring it up to your room if you'd prefer to explore the resort or go on to a park after checkin.

Also, if you do check your bags, be sure to bring whatever you need for your arrival day (including bathing suits, sunscreen, medications, toothbrush and pajamas even) in a carryon since sometimes bags are slow getting to your resort. Checked bags travel separately from your transfer bus.

Sorry for posting it in the wrong thread area :(

I ended up just doing a wheeled carry on and put a couple of things in my husbands bag. Thanks for the responses. We are waiting to board in about 15 mins! :)
