Check-in with AP discount

We booked the Spring AP discount before we purchase our APs. I was told by my TA that we just have to show a valid AP at check-in for the discount. Do we have to go to a park and activate our vouchers before we check in, or can we check-in with the vouchers before we go to the park?

I have had CM's ask for AP or voucher, and I have had them just check me in without any mention of it. I would guess as long as you have the voucher you are fine. Worst case they may ask you to stop by later when you have the active AP.

We stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge last August on an AP Discount. Our AP's had not been activated yet. I always make sure I have the renewal paperwork with me just in case. When we were at the front desk, they just scanned my magic band, but didn't say what for. After that we went over to Animal Kingdom and activated our AP's.

I have never been asked for it at check in but did have the vouchers and paperwork with me just in case. Then we head over to Epcot and get them activated.

I checked in without showing APs in the same situation this summer. I was never asked to show APs, but MDE was linked as having purchased APs. I activated them after check in.

My first time with an AP I wasn't asked to show anything on check in, they did verify that I had an AP but it was listed on MDE so that was fine. I've never been asked to show it on check in.
