Check-In Time?

We're staying at POP for 2 nights and AKL for 3 nights later this month...what time should we REALLY be checking in? I believe both resorts say check-in is at 3pm, but I've seen posts on here with people checking in much earlier. We're hoping for an upgrade at AKL and I've heard the earlier the better for that, but how early can we show up without being laughed out of the lobby Thanks everyone!

You could show up as early as 7 AM or 8 AM. The room probably WON'T be ready, but you can have the bell hops store your luggage while you do other stuff (with a tip each direction). The AKL has a safe deposit box for your valuables. Be aware that checking in early doesn't guarantee you any upgrades or room preferences. But it does give you lots of time to have fun at the parks.

I checked in at GF at 7:00am and Emam found us a room. My only request was non smoking. Emam asked my DD7 which view she would prefer and she chose "pool view."

I wasn't looking for an upgrade because I just needed a room asap. We were in a great location and we're very pleased with our room.

I would say go for it. Let your family sleep in while you go to the AKL and try to check in. Let them know if you are willing to wait for an upgrade.

We loved the AKL.
