The official check in time is 4:00PM!!! That is really late, I think!!!
Anyway, we were planning on checking in early and if our room is not ready heading to the pool for a while. I assumed that our room would be ready around 2:00 at the latest. It appers this may not be the case. This kind of messes up our plans for a nap for the kids before the halloween party!!!! If we dont get to our room til 4:00 that doesnt leave alot of time to eat and get to the party at 7:00. My kids are 2 hour nappers...no 30 minutes for them or they are GRUMPY!!!

SO....what are the chances that we will get into our room before 4:00??? I realize from all the posts it is packed and that will have some impact on our check in time as well.

Thanks for any thoughts on the subject!!

On where you are staying.

We have usually been able to check in an hour or two early, but that was not the case at ASMo. My toddler was sick, and we had to beg them for a room. When I told them that he might throw up in their lobby, they finally obliged!

It is possible that your room might be ready, but it might not be. And just because Check-in is at 4:00, it is possible that your room may not be ready at 4:00. It has happened. Check-in at the Poly is at 3:00, and we had to wait until 4:30 our last stay before our room was ready. I know what you mean about children being nappers, mine are, and they just can't have 30 minutes either, so I can sympathize. Just when you check-in, if they say your room isn't ready, ask if there is one that is available. Sometimes they assign you a room that isn't ready, but if they look they can find one. Basically, you're at the luck of the draw to get a room early, if it's VERY crowded, the odds do get lower.

That is exactly where we are staying! :(
Guess we may be a bit late to the halloween party!!!!

Anyone else have expereince with this?

Sorry double post but it wasn't anything I did! What is wrong with these boards and double posts lately. You can't even delete them anymore~

The Poly check in time is 3pm, not 4pm. I believe there are some that have the 4pm but not the Poly. We have always gotten to the Poly between noon and two pm and always had the room ready. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I think the OP is staying at ASMo (I think she was responding to the poster above me) and the check-in time there is 4:00. All Value resorts have a check-in of 4:00, as do the Home-Away-From-Home Resorts. All Deluxe and Moderate resorts offer a 3:00 check-in time. Now, again, check-in is just when MOST of the rooms should be available, not all it's not a guarantee that your room will be available at that time, but it is minority occurance.

Don't count on your room being ready at 4 p.m. We were in hopes of getting an early start for the Halloween party last year. We arrived at 10 a.m. earlier in the day, just to check in. We went shopping and ate lunch. It was around 1 p.m. We called room was not ready. Went shopping again. We went back to the resort around 3 p.m., room was still not ready. Checked in 30 minutes. After 4, room was still not ready. 4:30, room still not ready, but we have another room available. they say. Finally we had a room, but the room they gave us was not ready either. The room was a mess the maid had not cleaned the room from the previous guests. Coke containers on the table and trash here and there. Went back to check-in. Our room was ready then. The thing about it we were sitting outside and saw where the maids were cleaning the rooms. That room was ready at 3 p.m. It was a preferred room that we had booked. I almost lost my disney cool. I would say it was about 5:30 by the time we got settled in our room. Oh, by the way this was at all star sports.

as of right now all disney resorts are sold out this weekend. I am not sure when you are going but October has been busy and will continue to be. Alot of times rooms aren't able to be cleaned because guest just don't understand that check out in 11am and just stay as long as they feel.

If your assigned room isn't ready, ask if they do have any available ready rooms. If you have requests, they probably have a room already assigned but usually have some other open rooms (unless they are at capacity).

I travel alot and I think most hotels have an official check-in time of 3:00-4:00pm.

We have got into all our moderate rooms early when check in is at 3. Last Wed. at CBR we got our room and all our requests at 10am. But that was a slow few days. At CR in late May we got our room when we arrived at noon. WL was the only place that did not have our room ready until the 3:00 checkin. Just depends on the resort and how busy they are that day. Values do have a later check in I have read.
Will you be driving or flying and can they nap on the way?

YIKES!!!
This is sounding scarier than I thought!
Yes we are staying at all star movies. We check in sunday the 19th. This is a bummer...well I guess we could swim and then put the kids in the car and drive around for 2 hours so they can sleep!! LOL!!
Although after 2 days in the car I am sure they will be ready to be in a bed!!
We dont have any big requests as far as rooms go, just want to be in toy story building if possible, of course...so does everyone else probably!!
Cant get too caught up in it, it is vacation!!!!!!!!!

It does vary...we usually take a 6:30 flight and are at our resort by 10:30am...I'd say 80% of the time we were assigned a room right away. Our DD has about a 50/50 chance of getting sick on the flight and I do remember begging for a room on one occassion ( she needed a bath desperately!) But we usually come in on off season and have no problem...I'm assuming the resorts aren't full. I'll be interested to see what happens this time going the last week in October. If you are persistant they may get you a room...and if you don't have a lot of requests.

I can understand about the 3-4pm check-in and 11am check-out, but I do wish these days would not be charged for the length-of-stay passes (maybe they will still deduct 1 day, but still). We live in Raleigh and it takes us 10 hours. We are leaving 12-5 after our DD gets out of school and driving to Charleston. We plan to arrive at WL by noon on 12-6. We feel sort of pressured to go to a park immediately (MK) as we are paying for it, otherwise we would have just hung out and enjoyed WL (1st timers). We will be leaving on Sun 12-14 and must be home that night for DH and DD to be back at school and work on Mon, so I really don't see us having time to go to a park that day (although I'm sure they'll convince me to go to MK just for SM, HM and PoC:tongue: ). Before they came out with the Dream Maker, we were going to get 4 day HP and just do a park every other day and actually take some time to relax. Now my schedule is out the window and I'm clueless how to plan for this many unlimited days:eek: . Oh well, it's easy to complain now, but once we're there we will all be so happy that any worries will fade away!! :teeth:

I have never ahd to wait for a room whether checking in at 9am or 1am. The one time we came close was a 10 am check in at CSR. It was fine with us when no room as ready so we went over to guest relations to pick up our luau tickets for that night. They asked us our room # and whe we said we didn't have one yet they went away and came back 5 minutes later with a room that was ready. If it is a dire situation you might want to check with guest relations.

According to the Disney site Value resorts have check in at 3. If you check in and your rooms not ready, they will hold your luggage for you right??? We will be there next Saturday and will prob arrive around 1 .

Yes they will hold your luggage. I always check in before noon and have never had to wait for a room.

value, moderate, and deluxe resorts have a check in of 3

the only resorts that have a check in of 4 are the home away from home resorts (except Fort Wilderness)

and yes if you ask them too they will hold your luggage for you either before check in or after check out

And I have had NO problem checking in BEFORE 4 pm. I would write on my Fax request that I would be arriving early, around 12 noon, and get there at 1:00pm and my room is ALWAYS ready!;) In Nov. I am arriving around 4:00pm and I know CBR's room will be ready by than too.:)

There is a good idea!! I could put on my room request I will be arriving early, then maybe they could assign me to a building that will be cleaned first!!!
It is worth a shot!! I know there are no guarntees, but worth a shot!!!
