Check-In Request

I know I can do online check in and make request 60 days out but I've been reading about a lot of people not getting their request when checking in online. So can I check in over the phone and make my room request and if so when? We are booked with a TA and she has already made a request for us but I want to make sure we get the building we want!

There's no provision for doing online check-in over the phone; you can only use the web site.

Since you made the reservation through a travel agent, you would not be able to add a request yourself over the phone. The agent owns the reservation, and only they can make changes, requests, etc, to it.

Not to worry, though, if you don't get the building you wanted, you can ask at check-in if they're able to move you to that building. As long as there are available rooms in the building, I'm sure they'll be glad to switch your room.

I'll just add - if you have a specific room request, then I would skip on-line check in. That is really just for folks who want to grab room keys and go.

I just posted this on another thread...........I've been lucky in the past getting our room requests granted doing the traditional check in. On our last trip I did the online check in and ended up with the opposite of what I had requested. I asked if perhaps a room in that particular area might be available or would be later and she just said no, that our room had already been assigned and handed me the packet. I was left with the impression that if you do the online check in you will get the 1st available room in the category that you booked and that's that. Although we wouldn't do the online check in again, I do think it's great for those who have no special requests and want to get to your room quickly with no fuss.

I do online check-in all of the time and I've had very good results. I always have my requests noted on my reservation prior to online check-in. I've never been disappointed. Last trip to Poly, I requested a quiet room, close to GCH and I got a fantastic room in Rarotonga. If you do online check in, I would just suggest you don't check the box that states you are most interested in getting a room early - in that case, I do think they will give you whatever is first available. Otherwise, I believe they will try their best to accommodate your requests whether you check-in online or in person.
