Check-In Questions??

Hi, I've got a major question (OK, major for me). Here's the deal:

My crew and I are going down next week. We're meeting my DMIL and her crew on Sunday 11/23. We'll be staying at POR during Thanksgiving week.

We're coming from Ohio and my DMIL is coming from Illinois. We've agreed to meet around 3:00pm at POR. We have ressies for 2 rooms, the ressies were made by DMIL, but she said she included DH's name on there.

My question is:
1. If we arrive earlier than 3:00, can my crew check in or do we have to wait for my DMIL to come and make the actual check-in?

2. If we can't check-in yet, can we still hang out at the resort while waiting for her? Will they give us parking permits or would we have to pay any sort of parking fee?

3. If we can check-in, will they give us (part of the group) the park passes, parking passes, etc? Or do they just give the passes and room keys to the person on the ressie?

We don't plan on getting down there until close to 3:00pm, but I just know the way DFIL drives, he'll be slower than we are, and will most likely arrive a later than us.

Gosh... I'm really getting antsy... I'm having so many worries right now, I can't think straight. I keep thinking something bad is going to happen that's going to sabotage our trip.

Anyway, I'm rambling.... Any info would help. Thanks guys... DISers RULE!

If your husbands name is on the reservation he should be able to check in. Will you be paying the bill then for both rooms? You pay upon check in.

Yes you can hang around the resort and use the pool. It all depends if they let you check in then you can get your room key even if not ready and if you have passes attached you can go to the parks.

I would call the resort directly and ask them about having your husband check in and pay for the two rooms.

Actually DMIL is the one doing the paying. However, she already made the final payment last week.

Does this mean, she's the one that has to check in?

You will be fine. I met friends at PO-FQ last February, there were 4 of us in 2 rooms. The friend who made the reservation is a cm, so she made the reservations, but put our names on it too. She prepaid it. Another friend arrived earlier than the rest of us, she was able to check-in both rooms, get the keys & the parking pass. We did not get charging priviledges on any of the keys so that was not an issue. Have a great time!

We checked in at 7am and they gave us a card with a phone number to call. That way, we could check in periodically and see if our room was ready. be sure to request express CHECK OUT, so you don't even need to go to the desk. We also arranged to have a delayed check out at 11:30 which was absolutely no problem! Enjoy! We loved this resort!

Well, I'm sort of in the same situation. My mom is arriving before myself and my son (by about 2 or 3 hours) and I was hoping should could at least check into 1 of our 2 rooms. I was told though that because I am using a DisneyClub discount that I have to be there to show them the card before we can check into both rooms.

And yes, her name is on the reservation too, but I used my DisneyClub membership to get a cheaper rate.

We'll see what happens. I'm going to make a copy of my DisneyClub card to give to my mother so she can show them.

They very rarely ask for the Disney Club card, but give your mom a copy in case. Just like AP's, everyone worries about having it activated at check-in and they rarely ask for it. I had an AP rate earlier this month for 1 night by myself when in Orlando for business, not only did the cm not ask to see it, he asked if I needed to buy passes or tickets!
