Check-In Question

I just called the Front Desk & spoke with Autumn. For those who care to know....your site is assigned 2 days prior to check-in, although you cannot call and ask what site you've been given - too many variables involved. When you arrive - if it's before 1pm and the Fort is pretty full, your original assigned site may have to be changed due to the fact someone arrived before you & requested that particular site. If, upon arrival, your site is vacant & ready - they will give it to you and let you check in. The earliest I have ever checked in & was allowed to go to my site was at 7:30am.

Once the loop attendant has "signed off" on a site, that number is put in the system to be available to a site assigner to use, but not a check-in cast member. If a guest requests a certain site # upon checking in, the check-in person MUST clear it with the site assigning CM before they can give it to the guest checking in.

So, bottom line, they do pre-assign sites & hope they don't have to vary too much from the original assignment. Autumn told me the assigners try very hard to "fit" the site to any specific requests on the ressie if they can. A ressie is reviewed for special requests, (i.e. loop #'s, site near a bus stop or comfort station), then they try to assign a site according to the size and type of rig you have.

But see, you talked to Autumn, who doesn't know what she is talking about. Bobby says always ask for Michelle when you call FW for info.

I happen to know that Bobby is not on a first name basis with the hourly paid cast members, or any cast member below VP level. He told me so the last time he was having a beer with us at Crockett's.

Hopefully 1100 stays full hookup. I stayed in 1100 in November and January. During our January stay we had friends in a cabin and even though we weren't 10 feet away, it still worked out fine to go back and forth.

Bobby says he has never heard of you, and I know for a fact that he doesn't like beer - his beverage of choice is Kungaloosh.

That's what you THINK you know!!! I don't go by my real name at Crockett's - Bobby knows me as "Mikki", and I'm in my undercover disguise...

That's exactly what we are looking for, I don't want to have to get on a bus to go visit them.

Hi stacktester, we were a few doors down from you in 1100 in Nov. and we talked for a bit. Nice to meet you. We were the family there with 40+/- family and friends for Thanksgiving and we had 3 cabins behind us. We'll be back again in Oct. at Bay Lake Towers but at the Fort Dec. 5 for 10 nights. Maybe we can see you again.

But if the sites are pre-assigned, how is it that I can drive to my assigned site, see that my huge tent won't at all fit on the pad, go back to the Outpost, and get another? We did that on our last trip, and the CM who worked with us didn't seem to have a problem with it.

Things that make you go hmm...

I assume the assigner has different levels of fluidity for the advanced assignments. Folks who are already in a site and are bridging two ressies are likely the least fluid assignments. Multiple ressies in a grand gathering are somewhat more fluid. Folks with special requests, a little more fluid. And folks with no special request at all are quite fluid. So, when your assignment won't work for you, most likely you will get one of the other fluid site assignments. That's how I'd do it if I were THE MAN (Oi... all this 'fluid' talk, where's the restroom?)

Yike, I think you just drowned me with all that fluid, Shan.

All I know is that I hopemy two sites are next to each other and big enough for the big ol' tents I have.
:thumbsup2
