Check In Question - Room Only Reservation

We are staying at Coronado Springs with a room only reservation (no package). Assuming our room is ready early.....if the reservation is in my name, do I have to be the one who first checks in before the rest of my party can get in the room? Half of our party is arriving before us, so I'm worried they may have to wait a few hours for us to get there before they can get into the room. I believe we would still have to stop at the front desk, as with Room Only you usually pay the balance off upon check in. Would it help if we paid the balance off prior to check in? Any insight would be most helpful.

You can check in online and add a credit card that will be used to pay the balance, I believe, usually at the end of the stay. If your whole party have magic bands, and if you sign up to get a text and actually get a text when the room is ready, anyone from your party should be able to get into the room. This is all dependent on Disney IT working correctly.

Your room-only balance will be charged to your crdit card on file usually very early on check-in day. Not at the desk when you arrive. Do your online check-in and for arrival time enter the time the first group expects to arrive. You likely will receive notification of your room number - you can share that with the others if they don’t have access to your MDE. The room may not be ready early anyway, unless you are arriving in the evening. If you wish to pay the balance with a different card or with cash or gift cards, I suggest you call a couple of days before arrival.

If you do online check in then the balance will automatically be charged to the card on file.
You may or may not have to stop by the front desk still though.
I do believe anyone on the reservation could go to theh front desk if you have not found that your room number is in MDE.

My Dad has a room only reservation in March. He had a credit card on file. They didn’t run the card and he had to go to the desk to see what was up since he didn’t get a text. The card was valid and they just pushed it through. I paid my room only in advance and got the room ready text. If you want to make sure everything works right, I would pay in advance.
