Check In Procedures

In the past, my DH has dropped DD and I off at the terminal with our luggage and then has returned the rental car and rode the shuttle back to the port. In the meantime, DD and I went through security and checked in. We did have his passport with us and he had is driver's license for ID. Then all he had to do was have his picture taken for the KKTW card.

With the new port arrival times has this procedure changed? Will we still be able to do this or will we have to wait for him to return before we can get past the first check in port at the gate?

Also, are the enforcing the arrival times? Are they turning people away who arrive before their scheduled time? Our time is 11:00-11:30am.

It's a great question. The sticky referenced by jilljill has a lot of information, but none specific to your question. I'd love to hear how the process works now too. Like what time can I drop my family off and then how long it takes to get to a rental car company (Budget specifically for me) and back to the terminal. Before people were able to drop off their families prior to the terminal opening then get their car rentals dropped off and back on the shuttle before the terminal even opened. Sounds like that has changed and I'm hoping someone can give a little insight on how the process works now.
