We are going to be doing our first split stay and I was wondering how check in works? When we check into BLT do we mention that we'll be moving to AKV? Will we need to check in again when we get to AKV?

The two reservations are seperate. You will need to check-in for both.

You will have to check-in twice, they are separate reservations. That's the only way you will get a room assignment at AKV, BLT can't do that. You don't need to tell BLT unless you want to have your luggage transferred, in which case you would take them to bell services and ask for them to be transferred.
