Check in lines for WestJet in Toronto

99.9% My family & I will be flying WestJet to Orlando this December & I was wondering what are the check in lines like in Toronto? We have flown on Air Canada a few times & the standard check in line is just out of hand & to crazy. I know they have cut back on employees but when it's a busy holiday travel season they should have more people working at check in. So I was wondering how is WestJet when it comes to checking in for your flight out of Toronto & do they have an express check in like Air Canada & they do seperate check in lines for flights to Canada & the USA?

We flew via WestJet to Orlando on Christmas Day 2005. Our flight was at 10:15am. We were at the airport at 7:15am. The lines were non-existent at that time but there were lots of staff and they were very pleasant. There was a flight connecting Western Canada that had just arrived and people were picking up their luggage and moving to the head of the line to pass through to US Customs. It seemed orderly. You cannot do express check-in for international flights with WestJet. WestJet flies out of Terminal 3 and there is a separate counter for WestJet Domestic flights and WestJet flights to U.S.

Thanks for your reply. Last week my Dad made our reservations for WestJet online & I can not wait to fly them. Also I am sure the service, lines etc will be a lot better then Air Canada.

I forgot to ask if you get your seats when you check in because on our confirmation, it does not say where we are sitting.

No...with Westjet you can only get your seat assignment at check-in time (with no such thing as Express).
As previously mentioned,if you get there early,the lines are non existant and they usually open 2 or 3 desks.

Might I make a suggestion, before you book with Westjet look at flying out of Buffalo. It's cheaper!!

If you are flying with 3 or more people, WestJet will pre-assign your seats so that all 3 or more of you are sitting together. They do it automatically. However, if you want specific seats, you can do that at check in. We adore West Jet! We flew with them during March Break last month...no lines...very friendly. From our home to sitting at the terminal waiting for the plane was one hour exactly! S

Might I make a suggestion, before you book with Westjet look at flying out of Buffalo. It's cheaper!!

My family & I know people that fly out of Buffalo before & it's something my Dad will not do. It's not a matter of the flight being cheaper, it's that on the flight home we will not want to drive 2 hours back home. I know we could stay that night in Buffalo & go home the next day but it's a lot easier if we fly out of Toronto.
