Check-in: Kids in adjacent stateroom

We're booked on a Merrytime cruise (Dream-3Day) and have adjoining stateroom with other family members. Our kids are split between the two rooms - one assigned with 1 room and two assigned to the adjoining. Does anyone know if everyone in the party has to check in together, or whether my children assigned to the adjoining room can check in with us, and our other family members assigned to that room check in separately?

Our experience only- and other people have different experiences- but we could check everyone in AS LONG AS an adult in the other room had checked in (so adult in room B checked in and we were able to show up an hour later and check in with our kid in room B...we could not check in kid in room B until the adult in that room checked in). We were told this is because they couldn’t sail without an adult in that room and would have a problem if the adult didn’t show, but they can sail without the kid in that room.

Does that make sense?

Totally makes sense. I wasn't sure, but I was thinking that they wouldn't let a minor check into a room that the adult in charge (of that room) wasn't onboard yet.
