check in/grocery question VWL

I will be driving from St.Pete to VWL on Monday. We are planning to arrive at WDW at 11am and I am assuming that my room will not be ready until 4pm or later. Will I be able to check my bags and groceries and have them delivered to my room. We are planning to go to the Magic Kingdom and then Chef Mickeys for a 6:30 dinner. Hopefully, I would like to pick up my room keys and have everything already in the room. Does this sound possible?

You'll get your room keys when you check in. But nothing will be brought to the room unless you are there. So you'll have to return to the resort after your Chef Mickey dinner and get your stuff brought to your villa then.

Last year , when I ordered groceries, all our food was waiting in our fridge when we came back from DTD. We checked in and went out and when we came back, there it was. I don't know if this is typical but we are planning to do it again. for what it's worth.

I think it depends on how busy the CMs are... This happened to us once at VB where we checked our groceries, but had to wait a while for the room... They kept everything cold for us and then when we got in to the room, everything was unpacked and put away..
