We will be at BWV in October. Traveling with both kids and their significant others - we have three 1 bedroom villas booked (tried for a grand villa but wait list magic didn't happen this time). All three villas are booked from day one to day 5. 4 of us will be arriving on day one. 2 remaining party members will arrive very early day two. We aren't going to change the reservation for the third villa to shorten by a day - because the last two arrive really early and it will be nice for their space to be ready and available for them.
I'm wondering if I can check in for them? I am the DVC member, I made the reservation, but their names are on that room reservation. If they do online check in - will the room automatically be theirs on day one - even if they aren't there? I know on our last two stays we did the online check in, but still needed to go to the desk to get our room number.
Thanks for the help!

I would go to the front desk on arrival and tell them what's happening. That should prevent the last villa from being reassigned. Have your member ID (digital or card) and photo ID handy just in case they need to verify!

Why not just put an abbreviated name on the third reservation, and then use that magic band and name to check in when you check in for the rest of your rooms. Unless you have the dinning plan, there probably isn't any down side to putting an extra name on the third room.

I agree with the other comments, but I also suggest that you Contact Member Services now, by phone, and tell them what you will be doing, and have them put a note in the info for the 3rd room. AFTER that, perhaps you can even have the people will be staying there call the Disney Reservation Line and have THEM tell the people to let you check in for them. This will make it easier for the Front Desk to handle everything.

I'd probably add a pseudo "me" onto that reservation to get the check-in finalized. However, in theory having MS note that on the reservation and doing online check in should take care of it without doing anything else. I have had direct to room work at BWV before. Not always, but sometimes!

Going to the front desk without having your name on the reservation will likely just be frustrating as they tend to not talk to someone who isn't on the room - even if you are the owner of the points. But you might get that cm who makes an exception. That would be my last thing to attempt though.

Also, make sure the reservations all have the "Traveling With" notations added to them. That way, the room assigners will know that you are all "together" and they will try to keep you as close together as possible. It's certainly not a guarantee, but if they do not know that you are all one family group, they won't even try.
