Just checked in for myself and a family member's reservation. Figured I'd post my experience for the other detail freaks out there like me.

We were able to get a PAT of 10:45-11:00. One stateroom was boarding group 6, the other 7.

Signed on via phone app right at midnight (eastern time), was finished with first stateroom check in by 12:20, the other by 12:35.

Information Needed: emergency contact name & phone number, passport photo, selfie, onboard account info (credit card, cash, etc), arrival/departure info (flight, address, etc).

The passport info autopoulated for a few, but not for others. For those that didn't, I had to enter Surname, Given Name, Passport number, Date of Birth and Expiration Date.

It didn't like one of the selfies. It was against a lighter background and a bit cropped. It reccomends that the pic clearly show from the shoulders below to above the top of the head. I had a less cropped version and that was ok.

Based on other comments here I used a phone for the check-in, but check-in did not happen via the app. The app just brought you to the web page. The process probably would've been faster for me directly on the site with my laptop with all the pics and info ready to go, but YMMV.

Entering the info for the couple of passports that didn't populate took extra time, but I don't see much of a difference in the pics, maybe slightly angled? Also, the emergency contact info was prepopulated for one reservation, but not the other.

I did this on two separate phones and the one iPhone I used with safari for the second reservation kept hanging after I added the selfie. I'd have to refresh the page and start over for that person which was frustrating.

I ended up adding the selfie pic first, then adding the passport photo and entering the passport info and it finally worked. I did not have this issue with the other phone using Chrome.

Good post, I was looking for info like this before I checked in!

I did it on my laptop with the pics all ready in a folder (I had to do three staterooms with 9 people, took 35 minutes total). I imagine it was faster than the phone, especially since there was info that needed to be typed. I was not prepared to enter the passport numbers, so it would have been nice to have those ready in a list. I kept having to zoom in on the photos to see the number. Only one of my nine passports pre-populated.

ETA details- checking in for the Dream in January, PAT of 10:45 for all three. Two staterooms in boarding group 6 and one in boarding group 7.

Thank you I have four hours to make my adjustments. I’ll be much better prepared now.

I had to enter passport information manually as well. Annoying, since DVL has our passport information on file from previous cruises. Fortunately, I have the numbers and expiration dates in a readily accessible “travel numbers” documant that I use to track frequent flyer numbers, insurance information, passports, driver licenses, etc.

Thanks for tips on photos... I had cropped mine a bit, still including the shoulders and it wouldn't load it. So I put in the less cropped version and it was fine. Or maybe it could tell that the photo was cropped and it didn't want *any* adjustment from the original.
1 out of 2 of our passport info auto-populated, but that wasn't too bad. (I can see that would be time consuming if you have to add a bunch of people).
@Ralph&Pam I like your idea of a travel folder with all that info. Going to copy! Thanks!

Pretty much the same experience here.
One note is that all adults need to be completed before it lets you successfully save the kids info. (Or at least that's what seemed to be)

Completed mine about 15 minutes ago, got group 3. Wanted to thank this thread for all the awesome info, I felt very prepared.

Hi all - I'm reviving this for a minute. In the last 2 months, I moved and have misplaced my passport. I know you can use a birth certificate. Any tips or thoughts on that process? :) Thank you.

Yes you can BUT the problem you have is if you have a medical emergency (hit by car at port, broken _____ on ship, bowel obstruction, appendicitis,…etc.,) you can’t fly home. And each one of those things happened on my cruise in 2014. There was a slew of “bright star?” announcements. Twice we turned around (and man it was a steep turn! Wow!) and I have NEVER gone at that speed with a ship before or since. It was announced to save that persons life we needed to get back to land very quickly that night during dinner.

I was told that most of those people were fine, except we didn’t get to hear about the emergency rush to land. One person didn’t have insurance another did not have a passport. I never knew why a helicopter wasn’t used.

Apologies if this question has been answered repeatedly. I’ve searched the Disney website and haven’t found the answer. Is there a specific format (jpeg pdf heic etc) that the photo and passport photo need to be in to upload them at check in? Our date is coming up this week and trying to get everything ready before hand. Thanks for any help!

I uploaded everything as jpg...but I expect that other formats might be accepted too.

I guess I used jpeg files, as all my submissions were photos from my iPad photos.

I am so glad I read this thread, I had no idea i would have to upload pics thank you so much for this info. This may seem very silly but I’m very old school and not computer savvy at all. Do I just take a photo of my passport pic? And a selfie? And can I just download it from my photo library

I think you are sending a photo of your passport information page; I took a photo of both pages when opened flat - so you see issuance info and signature page.

I had a leftover passport photo (since you get two) and took a picture of that. They won‘t want a photo that has the squiggly lines on the passport. Or, sure, a selfie - just make sure it has nothing in the background; pretty much the same layout as a passport photo.

I just laid the passport and photo on the table, took photos, and then edited them to trim the table out of the picture.

Just trying to understand.
Is the "selfie" a photo of the individual from the shoulders up with a light background?
And the "passport photo" a photo of the entire passport? Not just the photo that was used on the passport and similar to the "selfie"?

Passports for two of my daughters are arriving a week after our check-in. I have the old passport info but not a copy of the passport first page. If I were to upload a random photo for their passports would the system reject them? I would obviously alter the photos and info once the passports arrived a couple of days later.

If they are expired, I think they would be rejected. It automatically reads the passport info from the photo, or you have to type it in (including expiration). I'd try checking in with birth certificates, then updating to passports when you get them

They're not expired. I updated them because they were expiring within six months. I should have taken a picture instead of saving the info. I'm Canadian so I don't think the birth certificate will work. The only reason I was to check-in is to secure a good arrival time.
