So I know most things about it, (thanks to reading disboard posts hehe). My question is if you get meals for the day you check in/out... I dont' think so, but PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong... Also, any GREAT restaurants? I still need to fill in a day... I know its kinda late :confused3 but I was having trouble deciding (already have Boma, Liberty, Biergarten, Bistro de Paris, Crystal, 50's Prime, and a few others) so if my itinerary is:
Dec. 3- check in
Dec 4-10 full days
Dec 11- check out
How many of each do I get? (per person)
Oh btw is the Plus dining

The dining credits are dependent on the number of nights you are staying so you will get 8 days worth of dining credits. I'm not sure what you mean by plus dining. There is Quick Service, Regular & Deluxe. Quick service is 2 CS & 2 snack credits per night. Regular is 1 CT , 1 TS & 1 snack. Deluxe is 3 meal credits per night to be used at either TS or CS & I believe 2 snacks. So if you wanted to do all TS you could or mix TS & CS although the 2TS dining experiences will use up your total allotment quicker. Also Bistro de Paris is not on the dining plan.

Plus Dining is actually how Disney refers to it on the website, and on your confirmation, and what the reservation folks will call it to: as in "I see you have Magic Your Way Plus Dining." It is what we on the Disboards call "regular dining" or "DDP" (for Disney Dining Plan) and gives you one TS, one CS and one snack per person per night.

So yes, OP, you're there for 8 nights, you get 8 credits each of the TS, CS and Snacks per person over 3 yr. of age on your package reservation.

And PP is correct-- Bistro de Paris is NOT on the dining plan and will cost you mega-$$$ to pay cash for. Check your other reservations...some places take 2 credits per person...you don't want to come up short unexpectedly.:thumbsup2

We like some of the resort restaurants...Kona Cafe at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian CAfe at the Grand Floridian, The Wave at the Contemporary. And the fun thing about going to a resort restaurant is you'll get to see the Christmas decor at that resort. The Grand Flor. is supposed to be wonderfully decorated.

Also, keep in mind for your check out day of December 11, that even though you don't receive credits for this day, if you have any DDP credits left over (or if you save some back to use this day) you can check out and still use up any leftover DDP credits until midnight of that check out day. :thumbsup2

Lots of people seem to end up with some unused credits (especially snack credits) and you can always see them trying to use them up before heading out by getting treats for the trip home, etc. :thumbsup2

You don't get meals "for the day," you receive all your dining credits as soon as you check in and they are good until midnight AFTER you check out. It's then up to you to determine which credits you use on which days.

We usually do the regular DDP. Since you get a TS and a CS for each night that you are on hand, we typically do the TS on the day we check in and save the paired CS for the day we check out. Works out pretty well for us, though I have heard some people do not mess with ADR's on the day they arrive to be more flexible. They then schedule a fun TS breakfast like Chef Mickey or Crystal Palace before "leaving the bubble". :)

No matter how you slice it, you get all of your credits based on how many nights you stay, and then its up to you to decide how you plan to use them up.

We do the regular DDP. We drive to the World, so we never are 100% sure when our arrival will be.

We are arriving on a Saturday, and leaving the following Saturday. Again, since we drive, it is pointless to have park tickets and dining for that day.

So, we get the dining plan on a 6-night Park Hopper. On our Saturday arrival, we just pay out-of-pocket for our meals. We begin using our plan credits on Sunday, our first full day in the parks, and use them up on Friday (our final park day). We did a room-only reservation for the final night of our stay (which is a Friday).

That's how we did it for this time around...

We always pack up check out of the hotel and waste time at downtown disney while waiting to go to the airport always plan on eating at the earl of sandwhich which counds as a cs
