If you check in at downtown disney, without a car how do you get to the airport, or is it better using the free transfer bus from hotel on i-drive

Hi there,

I have always had a car but I guess without one your options are limited to taxi or your transfer bus from your hotel?

Anyone know if there is public transport from DTD to MCO? (That doesn't involve lots of changes :teeth: )

Hi Simon06, You have two choices - I'm assuming you're travelling with Virgin? You get some info sheets from Virgin with the contact number of the company picking you up (I think it's Mears if my memory serves me correct). You can either drop your gear at the check-in and get picked up from your hotel at the normal time, or you can ring Mears and get them to pick you up from DTD at a later time.

This is good as you miss out on the hassle at MCO and get some extra hours to do what you want to do, but if you want to do some duty-free shopping at MCO, make sure you give yourself at least two and a half hours before boarding as they won't let you in to the duty-free shops (you have to pick up your duty free as you are boarding the plane - they don't let you take it out of the shop). I made this schoolboy error last year and I won't be repeating it next time! :rolleyes1

Wow, that is great service :thumbsup2

We're non-drivers (not stateside, anyway!) and over the years, we have always dreaded the last day of our Florida vacations as it was always "wasted". :furious: Who wants to be sitting around at their hotel with their luggage waiting for the transportation company to take them to the airport? :sad2:

That won't be us this year - we're doing the DTD check-in and using our holiday time to the max! :thumbsup2 We are going to arrange to have the transfer company pick us up at DTD later in the day! ;)

This really is a brilliant facility offered by Virgin! :teeth:

Thanks for all the replies, yep travelling with virgin, DTD check-in it is, saves wasting the day on return.
