Cheating Revealed in American Idol Final Vote

I think that all of that small print at the end of every episode addresses their freedom to do what they want as producers of the show.

Rather, what you're seeing there are some of the disclosures that reveal what some folks accuse the producers of keeping secret. Ask yourself: Why do they present that fine print, at all?

On Canadian Idol a few years ago there was a contestant that should have won, but left at 3rd. It was the best thing that could happen. The top 3 had recorded "the song", and his version leaked after he left CI. You could hear how he had been forced to "conform", and there were rumours about his leaving (he wanted to & sabotaged himself/producers were mad at him & fixed voting, etc).

He ended up going back to his band & he's got the best career out of anyone that has been on CI: Jacob Hogard of Hedley.

I haven't heard the final song, but I think it's hilarious that the Idol franchise goes to so much effort to find a "star" just to make them sing a cheesy, dumb song!!

I know this is true cause I seen it on Wiki. There's some good stuff on Wiki.

I even use it for medical advice.

Wiki is ESPECIALLY BAD for looking up TV shows. People just edit stuff randomly. Fans don't want to believe that a character is gone/favorite contestant is eliminated so they edit wikipedia so other people don't believe it either. Medical stuff, OK, but not TV shows.

Not to get all serious here but American Idol is not treated like a game show and therefore does not fall under any oversight that applies to game shows. AI is presented as an entertainment show and I think that they can do anything that they want. Their only risk is that they go too far and people just stop watching. I'm afraid this is true.

This is not Wheel of Fortune, this is an entertainment show and is ruled under the regulations of that genre not a game show. In the end it is the producers who make all decisions for a show like this. This doesn't scream RIGGED, it screams advertising marketing and all the other things that matter to TV shows, NOT their audience per see.

I personally hope Kara is surprisingly MISSING from the judge's table next year after this fiasco.

If you read something and it's on the internet, it is almost certainly true. Otherwise, why would it be on the internet? I find it extremely unlikely that people would take the time to post untruths on the internet.

It's hard to argue with this logic. I guess there was cheating.

I'll let you in on some info., in case you haven't heard........(This is actually true):

Kris's wife is a member of the same sorority as I am and there was a huge, national campaign to get people to vote for Kris! Members on facebook, Twitter & the sorority equivalent of Linked-In, etc.... all were frantically sending messages out for people to vote.

I don't know how much difference it made, in the end, but it's A LOT of people, who know a lot of people. It would be interesting to find out.

I think they both have decent shots at a career, so the result is probably irrelevant.

I've heard they went down the line, offering the single to the idols in the order they finished. They finally got lucky and someone agreed to record it. Norman Gentle's version should be on the radios within the month.

1. Many people do care, which is why making something up like this isn't quite so cute as some might think it is.

2. There is no evidence that the show is rigged in the manner being suggested. An accusation of "rigging" is scurrilous and irresponsible without hard evidence. Unfounded accusations of "rigging" are essentially baseless attacks on the producers.

Bicker is correct, there is no evidence American Idol was rigged by anyone at anytime. If my original post left that impression with anyone, then please allow me to use this opportunity to take back my comments. My careless use of satire is the kind of irresponsible behavior that got politics banned from this board. You think I would have learned by now.

But it wasn't just Bicker that pointed this out to me. I was also contacted by a spokesman for the Kris Allen entourage. He made it clear that the Kris Allen entourage believes the song "No Boundaries" is a perfect reflection of the impact American Idol has on pop music today. As such, the Kris Allen entourage is proud to have Kris sing this song.
