Cheating Revealed in American Idol Final Vote

I don't know which is funnier...the story or that their are posters who actually believe this.

Clearly "the Man" is yankin' our chains. Good one!

:thumbsup2

And even after people post about Moss Man's tongue-in-cheek post other posters still believe it. :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: Gotta love the gullibility of some. ;)

DH and I watched the show and when Adam sang "No Boundaries" we both thought it was awful! I told him it sounded like a bad 80's one hit wonder hair band song. While the song is awful I thought that it fit Kris's style better than Adam's. After hearing them sing the song I told my DH that I hoped that Adam didn't win just because I think Adam would do MUCH better on his own rather than with AI.

:lmao: Yeah, I guess they don't already know that Adam has had to record and put on Itunes to sell that "lovely" song. Nice joke!

Here's the story as I've put together. Late last week, Adam Lambert came to the realization that he would have to sing "No Boundaries" on a CD if he won the competition. In an effort to stop this from happening, he conspired with some employees at AT&T to ensure he received less votes than Kris Allen.

Actually, I do believe this part, and I think that's why everyone's saying he 'peaked' a couple of weeks ago!!! :lmao:

I heard that the "vote tampering" occurred when Adam was singing those high notes that no one else could even attempt to hit. He was secretly transmitting a subliminal "don't vote" message (anyone remember Jason Castro from last year). Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

1. Does anybody really care?

2. Does anybody actually think that this show was not rigged at all?

If you read something and it's on the internet, it is almost certainly true. Otherwise, why would it be on the internet? I find it extremely unlikely that people would take the time to post untruths on the internet.

:rotfl2:

1. Many people do care, which is why making something up like this isn't quite so cute as some might think it is.

2. There is no evidence that the show is rigged in the manner being suggested. An accusation of "rigging" is scurrilous and irresponsible without hard evidence. :sad2: Unfounded accusations of "rigging" are essentially baseless attacks on the producers.

There are several levels of oversight, so unfounded accusations of "rigging" are essentially baseless attacks on people who stake their reputations on the integrity of their oversight.

Not to get all serious here but American Idol is not treated like a game show and therefore does not fall under any oversight that applies to game shows. AI is presented as an entertainment show and I think that they can do anything that they want. Their only risk is that they go too far and people just stop watching. I think that all of that small print at the end of every episode addresses their freedom to do what they want as producers of the show.

This reminds me of those old cartoons where two characters would be fighting over something "It's Mine" "No, it's mine!" And then something bad happens and then the characters look at eachother in surprise and say "It's yours!" "No, its yours!"

I've heard they went down the line, offering the single to the idols in the order they finished. They finally got lucky and someone agreed to record it. Norman Gentle's version should be on the radios within the month. ;)

:lmao:A little early for April Fools but hilarious all the same!!

I know this is true cause I seen it on Wiki. There's some good stuff on Wiki.

:scared: I even use it for medical advice.

OMG! This thread is so funny!!

I'll let you in on some info., in case you haven't heard........(This is actually true):

Kris's wife is a member of the same sorority as I am and there was a huge, national campaign to get people to vote for Kris! Members on facebook, Twitter & the sorority equivalent of Linked-In, etc.... all were frantically sending messages out for people to vote.

I don't know how much difference it made, in the end, but it's A LOT of people, who know a lot of people. It would be interesting to find out.

I think they both have decent shots at a career, so the result is probably irrelevant.
