cheapest way to get married in disney

Does anyone know of a cheap way to get married in disney. This is my second marriage to the same guy and we don't want to spend much money. Besides a chapel what are our options. We only want to spend a couple hundred at the most.

As far as I know, it's not possible to spend that little at Disney. The bare minimum would be several thousand.

define your version 'disney' wedding for us please...to give us general idea of what you want

it's possible to do disneyish wedding as long as it's not inside the parks. so if you're thinking of just getting married on any WDW owned land then you're in business.

get a disney resort room with private balcony. hire a officiant to wed you there in the room? i recall that option was brought up before.

Hi there.
The cheapest Disney Wedding there is is called an INTIMATE ADD-ON.
It doesn't include passes or hotel. For this package last month the prices are/were $3,200 for the wedding pavilion and $2,200 for the other wedding locations.
You need to call Disney weddings and specifically ask for the INTIMATE ADD-ON PACKAGE.
I know its more than a few hundred dollars. But what you get is amazing.

If I were determined to get married in WDW & didn't want to spend a fortune--I'd determine my backdrop, say the garden in the UK--
find the early opening day for Epcot, make reservations to stay at one of the Values & ta da! show up gown & tux & wedding party, marraige official in tow & just do it!
You could split up at the entrance if you feel there might be some CM unease at the gates--
wow! I'd love to see a wedding like that!

Disney will not let you do this. They are very protective about their FTW's. If you want to do it in your room that is fine. If you want to show up not in a wedding gown/ tux/ etc and want to take your own chances that is up to you. Remember that this is your wedding day, the last thing that you want is for Disney to escort you out or not let you in.

Unfortunately, Disney is very, very good at spotting "unauthorized" weddings on their property. No one is permitted into the parks in wedding attire unless they are part of a Custom Wedding group (minimum $10,000 weekday expenditure) and are accompanied at all times. Brides who have pictures taken in the Magic Kingdom have them taken at 5 or 6 am - long before opening. Epcot weddings are permitted only before the parks open also. While you will occasionally see a bride at Epcot during Illuminations, they are part of a party that has been booked with the Fairy Tale Weddings group.

Think they're not serious? Brides who pay for the Intimate wedding package at the "bargain" price of $2400 - $3300 (not including park or resort) are not permitted to have such parties.

If Disney finds you surreptitiously planning to marry within the parks, you will be "escorted" to the gates and your day's admission confiscated.

It is not worth the risk.

I'd try for something small at the Swan or the Dolphin as your lowest cost option.

Hi I am an Intimate bride and my EM told me that I could have a Illuminations party, of course all for a cost, and I Could show up in my wedding attire with my DH2B and wedding party, as long as I book through the DFTW department as an intimate bride.

actually, I thought something of the sort might happen--seeing how they are picky re: the 'tour' guide thing--so it stands to reason. Hey, don't follow my suggestion!
personally, I might risk it, in toned down clothes (like a skimmer dress & dressy sandals type attire) in an out of the way spot--but just for my renewals
I can see where they'd want to protect their paying brides' outlay

I would be very, very careful about expecting this. This is not what all EMs are telling Intimate brides - in fact, FTW does not generally book anything but the wedding for Intimate brides. I would double and triple check and get it in writing before I counted on it. This is one of the hottest issues for Intimate brides and it has not been working out well for many of them!

Or you could rent one of the boats for private parties and the boats hold up to 12 people.

It is a thought....they might let you do it without the dress and all.

Just so you know, after you pick up your marriage license from the courthouse (you have to do that anyway) a notary public can legally marry you. They are generally cheap $10-$50 as long as they don't have to travel a lot or go to any expense.

My friend wanted a "Disney" wedding because she had grown up in the area and didn't have much money. Her parents still live in Orlando so she, her fiance, his parents and another couple came down and camped out at FW. Her mom and dad came over to visit them at the campground with a friend of her mom's from work that was a notary. While the light parade on the water was going by on the lake, they stood on the beach and quietly exchanged vows with their friends and parents there. The friends acted as the witnesses and her new in-laws then sprang for the "reception" at the late seating of HDR. The bride wore a simple sundress and the groom wore dockers -- but they had bride and groom mouseears.

Well, we were young and he wasn't ready to be married, but we had our daughter together and I think he felt pressure to marry me from his parents and my parents, so we married when he was in college. So we just divorced because we were fighting alot. We remained good friends and in the last year and a half worked out all of our problems and have a much better relationship now.

Glad you managed to work it out. I was curious. I just went thru the divorce from hell, which dragged out for 15 months, and my ex is causing me so much trouble, i can't imagine why i ever married him, and i'd never do it again. He doesn't even want to see his kids - i would never have married him, had i known he would treat his own children like that. That's what prompted me to ask the question.

Your situation sounds completely different - and your divorce obviously a lot less bitter. Until i read your response - i had assumed all divorces were awful, but i was obviously wrong. Glad you were able to work things out.

Some people think i am mad getting married again to anyone, after what i went through - but i just love being with someone so nice, who i love and feels the same way about me.

Not sure how you could do a disney wedding on the cheap, but maybe you could go to a registry office first to get married then have some type of blessing in WDW. I know www.giftsofalifetime.com used to be able to arrange this, and they would even provide a nice romantic picnic on the poly beach or somewhere. Not sure if they still do it - but there's no harm in going to their website and dropping them an email - hopefully they could do something to fit with your budget, and it does sound v romantic.
