Cheapest rental car possible?

We're going to be at USO at about the same time you are at WDW and the rental prices are going up for Orlando. Even the 'last minute hot deals' on moving upward.

If you have a Costco membership and can get your hands on the latest (October) issue of 'The Costco Connection', there is a coupon for Budget on page 75 that might help you out (third day free on a rental). When I priced a rental, it showed me a 1/2 half off rate with that coupon. But, you will probably have to have the coupon in-hand.

I am still watching last minute specials and I have a couple of friends looking around for me. If I find anything good, or at least less than $200, I'll share the info with you....hopefully we can both get something much less than what we are finding now.

I go onto to mousesavers and try their codes with the different rental places and our last 2 trips have gotten good deals with National. They are located at the airport, the car rentals are just out the doors after you pick up your luggage. You can combine a disount code (many listed on mousesavers is available for the general public and also they will have a coupon code that you can use as well for a double discount) sometimes the National website will also have a coupon available for about $30 off. I would book a rental car now and then check back to see if the rates come down you could always cancel and rebook if you find a better deal. I read here once to check the rates a week before your trip each day before leaving especially the day prior because the rates drop down if they still have many cars available and that has worked well for us. I am wondering if the resorts are full and rental cars are tied up because of the Halloween events at the different parks. USO resorts all almost completely booked up the week we will be there. It could be why the car rentals are going back up as we get closer to Halloween....?

I went into National and plugged in some codes and the rates were higher than your $225 I would book it and check back as it gets closer to your trip. Linda

Tonite I booked a Budget rental car for 7 days...we dont need it all 10...and after searching forever...we got an SUV for 314.00 total...but we did need an suv FOR OUR DBL STROLLER TO FIT!

yea for me its just myself and the gf. one large luggage piece each and probably a carry on each. so car size doesnt matter to me. i am just trying to find the absolute cheapest car for that week and i should probably book it like today or tomorrow since i leave in 2 weeks. i just wanna do a scheap as possible. any quick help?

I don't know if this helps anyone but National is offering a free weekend day rental with a 3 to 5 day rent thru 12/15/09.

It doesn't help me as much as I would like...

I gave up on the rental car. I made online reservations to take the shared Mears shuttle from MCO to RPR. As I was checking out, it gave me the option to prepay for a shuttle from RPR to Epcot one day during our stay. That will work for us. I'm disappointed that the rental cars have gone up so much....
