What is the cheapest price I will get an AP for? I am a Disney Club Member also.

As I understand it, only Disney Club discounts are available on APs. So, that's your cheapest route.

There are Florida resident discounts, too.

You will also want to consider if you want an AP or a Premium AP. If you won't use the waterparks or go to Pleasure Island enough you'll save $100 off by getting a regular AP.

I'm a DC member but my girlfriend is not. Can I order 2 AP or PAP's for her and myself or does she have to be a member also to get the pass at the DC price?

If I order these online do I have to still pay tax?

If so where would be the best place to buy these? We are leaving 6/5-6/12...:bounce:

You can order/buy more than one AP or PAP using your DC discount.

If you order online, you will not receive the DC discount. The online system is not set up to give any discounts. You can order them over the phone or at one of the Disney Stores, though, and still get the discount. Of course, you can get the DC discount at the parks, too. If you order online or over the phone, you will pay $3 for shipping. If you order them at one of the Disney Stores you do not pay shipping. Most Disney Stores do not have the AP/PAP vouchers in stock and will have to order them for you. This usually takes 2 -3 weeks and you will have to go back to pick them up when they arrive.

No matter where you buy WDW ticket media (including AP/PAP), you will pay the 6% FLorida state tax. You should NOT have to pay any other state's tax on WDW tickets.

Since it is very unlikely that prices will increase before your trip, my recommendation is to just wait until you arrive and buy the passes then. If you want them in hand before you go, I'd order them over the phone. (I've done that many times and not had any problems). You will still have to exchange the vouchers for the actual passes at one of the parks or at DD. It takes about the same amount of time to exchange the voucher as it does to buy the actual pass.

HTH.

Good advice. I think I will wait until I get to the park and buy the AP's. That way it will be good till 6/5 2003 instead of 5/?? 03 if I bought them before hand. Now it's just deciding between AP or PAP. Ah decisions, decisions...

Your pass will be activated the first day you use it, NOT the day you buy it.

If you buy over the phone or at the Disney store, you get a voucher that will not be effective until you redeem it for the actual pass when you get to WDW. If you buy an actual pass at a park window or airport store, it is effective immediately, even if you don't use it immediately.

You can also buy APs at the Official Disney Welcome Center in Ocala which is at Exit 68 off of I-75. I don't know if you can exchange vouchers for passes, but since you can buy the actual real pass there, I bet you can. If you are driving down -- and driving down I-75 -- this is a great way to get in the spirit of the trip and save time in line at the parks.

If you drive to the parks and aren't staying on property, it also saves you parking that first day! I know, I am cheap, but after all, this IS the Budget Board. ;)

1) How does it save parking the 1st day?

2) If I buy the AP now, will I begin to get the newsletters now? Or, will I not receive any AP info. until they are activated in December?

Thanks!! :D

1. If you have an AP/PAP, parking at the parks is free. Since parking is also free for anyone staying at an on-site resort, this is only an advantage if you are not staying on site.

2. You will not receive the Mickey Monitor (AP newsletter) until after the pass is activated. Many report that they do not receive the MM even after they activate their pass. Apparently, Disney's system for this is not one of their best. However, you can usually read the MM online. The link for the most recent issue (May 2002) was recently posted. I'm sure you can find it by doing a search.
