As a general rule (no sales, no coupons), which is the cheapest place to purchase?

I HOPE I will be a g-ma in Feb. Going to start buying some diapers now.

Thanks.

Any wholesale place like CostCo, BJs or Sams Club. Luvs was the cheapest we found, and we never had a leak. Huggies on the other hand.... they were the worst!! Congrats!!!!!!

I loved LUVS years ago when I had a baby... (22 years ago).
I will look next time I go to Sams!

Thanks again (especially for the congrats!).

I used to buy the White Cloud brand at WalMart. They were the least expensive per diaper, didn't have a plastic outer, no irritation from scents or anything else on my kids very sensitive skin. There were also ones called (I think) Parents Choice - it was the store brand at one of the warehouse stores. The deal wasn't a ton better but I had to make fewer stops and that was great. I did buy my wipes at Costco though!

I use the Walmart brand (Parent's Choice) and have no problems with them. They are $2 a bag cheaper than Luvs at my local Walmart. I hated them with ds12 and dd9 (they used to have a plastic feeling cover) but they've totally redesigned them.

I somehow didn't see your post when I did mine-I swear it wasn't there! I used the White Cloud with the older kids too. I think the new Parent's Choice are really the old White Cloud diapers.

Luvs is my fave as well... Also, the 'premium' brand of Kroger diapers are cheap yet dependable as well :)

I would suggest not getting any until baby is here and you know what works. Both of my kids were fine with Parents choice diapers... my friends kids coud only use pampers. Walmart and sams is where i found them the cheapest.

Amazon.com is my favorite place to get diapers.. I have them subscribed so I get a case delivered each month. The next one ships on friday.

Amazon eh?
What kind? Or do you just get whatever kind they send?

Thanks.

Agree with PP - Huggies are the WORST for blowouts. Also agree with other pp - you may want to wait because some babies are very sensitive. My DS could only wear pampers sensitive. btw - for the little ones we LOVED pampers sensitive because of the indicator strip - it turns blue when the diaper is wet. They are not the cheapest however. And skip the newborn size for now - DS skipped newborn entirely and was in size one even in the hospital.

When the baby comes, diapers.com is a lifesaver. You can send coupons in and they will email a code to use. They will match prices and everything is delivered to your door the next day.

Another tip - sign up for all the baby sites. gerber, babycenter, babiesrus, etc. The best thing is to get on these mailing lists - We get SO many coupons and samples, it's fabulous! One friends mother actually created several email accounts so she could sign up several times.

Oh - and congrats!

Thanks so much! I never heard of diapers.com. I will go there and sign up.
DDIL is signed up at Pampers I know. I don't know about anywhere else.
LUVS were my fav when DD was a baby, but she could wear anything. LUVS were a good bargain back then. BTW, I bought size 1.. I thought that would be better than nb.

Honetly I would wait as well. Some here have told you that Huggies were the worst for them but they (along with Costco) were the best for us. Pampers were all we could use in the size 1 though. Luvs, White Cloud and Target's brand all were peed through within an hour. I am not a fan of Pampers though with the strong scent. We avoided those once we got out of the 'swaddler' sizes.

Some of my friends have had opposite experiences than we did. I might get one small container of each for them so they can try. We always passed diapers along to friends so they could try when they didn't work for us.

I would suggest considering cloth diapers. You can buy 1 size diapers and make 1 investment from birth to potty training. It's better for the enviroment too! I've spent just over $500 and have enough diapers to go 3 days without washing (I can really go 5 but don't like to push it).

Let me give you a piece of advice...different brand diapers fit kids differently. So I would suggest you buy a small package first to make sure they work. None of my 3 kids could wear Luvs...they gapped horribly at the waist and leaked. Huggies were always my favorite...never once had a leak, and they didn't smell weird like Pampers. Pampers broke 2 of my 3 kids out in rashes, go figure.

However, I usually used the Members Mark brand from Sam's. They worked fine, never leaked, and were the cheapest.

Another vote for White Cloud/Parent's Choice. I used them with both of my kids, who had sensitive skin.

Also, be careful about stocking up TOO MUCH on diapers. When babies grow out of a size of diapers, you can get stuck with a lot of diapers in a size you'll never use.

I get pampers baby dry I dont like the cruisers and I've had bad bad luck with Luvs! They run VERY small just a FYI. We also cloth diaper 1/2 time. I'm just all over the place huh? :rotfl:

Aldi has cheap diapers & diaper wipes

I did cloth with my first kid. I know it's green and all that but I did NOT do it with the 2nd!
I DOUBT highly that DDIL is going to wash cloth diapers. If there were a diaper service, she MIGHT consider that.
