cheapest or weirdest thing you have ever seen in disney restaurant or food court.

We've been to WDW so many times & still love it & half the fun that we have is people watching. We regularly play the "Count The Fighting Families" game. I even have a whole folder of pics that I've taken through the years of "What Not To Wear At WDW".

Maybe it's time to start taking pics of "Weird People At WDW" :rotfl:

Ever wonder what people are saying about you behind your back?

Chobie, you win!! party:

I was wondering how long it would take before someone took "issue" with us having fun doing something that pretty much everybody does every day. (that was said jokingly....)

Regarding yor question, I really don't care :hippie:

Where did I take issue?:confused3 I was just wondering what funny things there are about you that might make other people watchers day?

I find it funny that people are so concerned with how many bites a family gets out of a shared dole whip.:lmao:

But anyway, I'm glad I made your day. I'm thinking of carrying around some canned food to whip out next time at WDW just to amuse others since that seems so much more entertaining to some than the attractions/shows/parades etc.

I used to not care what people think, but now I realize that we are a family of snack sharers and people might be watching evey bite we take next time we do that. Weird...

Sorry Chobie,

I just assumed that you were taking issue with our brand of fun. My apologies :flower3:

There are probably quite a few things that make people look at me and wonder, because I'm pretty outspoken and am never really concerned with what other people think. If I do something that others can get a laugh out of....Great! We all do weird, goofy & stupid things & if we can't laugh at ourselves, then we shouldn't be laughing at anyone else.

We've been to WDW so many times & we've never been parade or show people. We just go to the parks to ride a few rides, eat, drink & relax. So we do end up sitting and watching what goes on & when you just take the time to observe, especially in a place as diverse as WDW, you see and hear things that would normally pass you by........:wizard:

Well, I already had my can of corn packed for a snack on the steps of city hall. But mushroom soup? What a great idea! I'll have to make sure to get a can with a pull-top so I won't have to carry a can opener.

:goodvibes

The bottom line is that the family staying at Ho-Jo's for $35 night, eating warm PB & J from a back pack, is having just as much fun as the family staying at the Poly eating filet mignion. And that, IMHO, is the beauty of WDW.

I've done the budget trips and I've done the Delux trips and they were all wonderful.

Amen! I just couldn't agree more. Our first trip was moderately budgeted, we only ate out once that week, the rest was counter. We brought some snacks for dd. Another trip was super low budget, as many of us as we could legally pack into the room (on an email code), we ate sandwhiches and cereal and even brought a toaster with us. All of our trips have been great, but those two were probably the better two..our first one and that low budget one (because of who we were with). Our last trip was at Beach Club and WL, Dining Plan, CA Grill, blah blah blah. It simply wasn't a better trip than any of the others.

This past March we arrived at CG and went to the lounge area for a drink. Of course...it was packed. about 15 minutes before the fireworks, I noticed a lady get up to leave. As she walked toward me I guess she noticed a glimmer of "ohhh a table" in my eye and she said, " I am coming back and I left a note on the table so no one takes it". She had a small round table with 3 of the big arm chairs reserved for what appeared to be only her. It was raining that day so she had a poncho drying on one chair and the other one was used to store her fanny pack, WDW bags, etc.

I could not believe it and I casually went by to read the note that threatened anyone that took her table. Really, I was just mad that this lady was having a full meal in an area that should IMO be for guests waiting for their table. I thought I would never see this again after they changed the check-in procedures......oh well.

That is an intresting and strange story. Did you think of telling a Cast Member or not, because that is what I would have done.

I talked to a manager because after standing around for 45 minutes looking at this empty table used for storage, I was disgusted. You would never see that at another "upscale" resautrant. Only at WDW...

What did the manger end up doing or did you not stick around to find out what happened?

On our honeymoon in November 91, DH and I had lunch at the restaurant in the Castle (don't think it was called CRT back then). After we were seated the assistant server brought us our breadbasket and the butter: a perfectly molded butter sculpture of Mickey. Now this was on Day 4 of the trip and by then we were inundated with Mickey soap, shampoo, TP, etc . . . and now the Mickey butter. We looked at the butter, looked at each other and CRACKED UP LAUGHING. The server gave us a funny look but we couldn't help it; it was Mickey overload at that point.

OT, but you'd be amazed at how many people at WDW wear new clothes and forget to take the tags and stickers off. :thumbsup2

or maybe it was deliberate! I've been tempted to leave my labels standing proud when I managed to buy 'normal' size clothes after losing enough weight to go down 5 dress sizes:)
I've now gone up 2 sizes - because I DON't share food (I'm too greedy to share!).

This wasn't really THAT weird, but my family still laughs about it. We were walking through Epcot on our way over to Test Track. A lady and her kids were walking the opposite direction. As they passed us the mom was telling the little boy "NO! NO ice cream! Ice cream SIX DOLLAR!!" She seemed rather angry. I think she was tired of him whining, but it could have been sticker shock. On the other hand, I have looked for $6 ice cream and never have seen any. It is more like $3, unless they were going to buy 2.:confused3

We saw a family on the monorail pop a pack a wieners out of a back pack and eat them by dipping them into a container of mayo they brought. It just seemed like an odd snack... dipping these uncooked weiners into mayo like they were fries and ketchup.

I have to confess that we have done all of it, we bring our own food for breakfast, I have made PBJ sandwiches and ate them in the park, the 4 of us have eaten around the world and shared food from the different countries. We do come down in our motorhome and stay for 2 weeks, so we generally get tired of eating out.

Some will try to save any way they can.

Yes, but this isn't saving, this is stealing! I have more respect for the mushroom soup guzzling/corn munching/dole whip sharing people than for these moochers!

This isn't a Disney story but my husbands young cousins were always so picky! I was mortified when their parents met us for dinner at Fuddruckers (Burger place) carrying a Wendy's bag!
