what is the cheapest place to rent a minivan? What is the best way about going about it? Using points or air miles or a certain credit card.

Book far in advance. The prices on minivans just keeps climbing

My sister recently got a credit card, I believe it was one of the chase cards which is a points card, but you can get deals without the points. We were looking at renting one of the big 15 person vans for out vacation next year 10 of us will be going, with her card it took that bill from $1300 down to about $800 plus had other travel deals as well airfare, etc..

Ive had several great prices; key is look a few times a day, as the prices can change just like that. For instance booked 8 days in Hawaii started out $680 by the time of our trip I only paid $260! I always use Alamo, Costco member and discount coupon usually a $30 off

Book the cheapest things you can find now but make sure you don't book a nonrefundable car and keep watching the fares daily. They tend to drop in the last week or two prior to your travel dates.

I just booked our car rental thru BJ's wholesale club. Cheapest we could find and will be paying $320 for 9 days in Los Angeles.

We found a 12 passenger for 12 days this coming fall for $826 using the Entertainment book code. It was cheaper to add the extra day and get 300 extra miles than worry about how close we would be to the mileage limit. That is better than the Union discount my DH could get and better than my Co discount. We are limited as to where we can book since we needed 10 pass or bigger for our trip.
I second the book one you can live with the cost of, but can cancel with out penalty so if you find something better you can rebook.

I just booked one for next december at car rental savers (no spaces) it was hundreds cheaper than the costco travel quote! (1st time that's happened) for 296 for 10 days in southern Cali- but the key is to keep watching just in case it goes cheaper....
