Our contract is up with verizon and though im happy with their service Id like to see my options in getting an iPhone. I currently pay $90 for 2 phones with unlimited text messaging and 700 shared minutes NO internet and NO email. Im mostly a texter and I the few people I talk to on the on are verizon. Last month we used 100 minutes. So my question is how cheap is your iPhone plan?

Ps. I know it will be more then this but Id like to hear how much you pay and for what you get...Im looking for a plan with at least unlimited internet usage, thanks in advance!

I'm in the same situation, my verizon contract is over at the end of the month, FINALLY, and I'm switching to AT&T to get an Iphone in 2 weeks! I would love to know people's input on this! All I know is the data plan (which covers the internet) is $30 a month for each phone, so if you have a family plan with 2 phones, that would be an extra $60 a month, which is in addition to whatever you will pay on your family plan (I think...I'm having a really hard time figuring it out!).

Thanks for jumping on board! If im not mistaking I think verizon is the same price for the data plan @ $30 per month per phone. If thats the case I would be playing $75 for each phone. Anyone else pay cheaper than this with AT&T iPhone?

My Iphone data plan was $30 in the store, but only $25 online. I amnot sure if that price is for everyone because at the top of my online account it says state Oklahoma employee. So, maybe it is because I am a state employee?
It is worth checking in to. Also, I do not pay the extra for text messaging. I receive texts to my Yahoo mail account where I get instantly notified, and to send texts, I either send the message to my friend's email account, or I send it as a picture, straight to their phone. I have to use a picture for every text I send, but worth it to me.
iPhone is unlimited internet. To call this a phone is a injustice. I will never NOT have an iPhone again. I love the phone, internet, and all the apps I can add. I have been with ATT since the 80's so my plan is pretty cheap. We have 2 phones with 1500 minutes, 150 bonus minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, mobile to mobile, and the iPhone data plan for $75 per month.

Thanks for your input...any clue how much it would be to add on texting?

Unlimited texting on the family plan is an extra $30 a month, I was just looking at all the plans!

we have the Family plan

My iphone is $30 month for data and $30 per month textng for all lines

We just added a Samsung Instinct for ds and his data plan is $10 a month he wanted an iPhone but he loves the Instinct and we are saving $240 yr on his line. He is very tech savvy and in many ways his phone is better but there r not as many apps for his phone

The iPhone will not operate wwithout the data plan so I will always have that cost unless I switch phones

Love my iphone and think it is well worth it. It is easy to use and saves me time and money
I'm just happy I don't have to pay for more than 1

We have At&t with one iphone and a regular phone shared family plan of 700 minutes, unlimited nights and weekends.

We spend between 105-113 a month for both phones and my data plan. I have the old iphone so it is only $20 rather than $30. Also I asked and with the new iphone you need to add a texting plan in addition to the data plan, the old plan had included some text messages. It really depends on how much you text, if you do less than 200 in a month then it will be an additional $5 so in total about $35 to do everything to the whole capability of the new iphone.

Since we only have 1 iphone on our plan I'm not sure how much more it would be, though I will find out soon as my husband wants to take my old phone and get me the new one.

You can't get an iPhone without the internet (data - unlimited) plan - $30 per line as said above. Unlimited texting is $30 per month up to four lines.

We have family plan 450 minutes with rollover for 4 lines (only one of which is iPhone). We never use all our minutes, we tend to text a lot more than talk. $150 per month all in.

The iPhone is one of the handiest gadgets ever. You will use it for a lot more than calling and texting.

With the iphone plans, the price is the price. If you work for a company that has a FAN account, you may get a discount on the service. Under business, enter your work email and see if your company has a negotiated contract.

The basic phone plan is 450 minutes, and data is required. I believe that is $69.99 for the data/phone together. For that no text messages are included. They are 1500 a month for $15.00 or unlimited for $20. There is also a smaller plan too, but I am not sure of that text plan cost.

Data/internet is unlimited.

Regardless of the minutes a month, the data fee is $30/unlimited. Family plans are the same as with other plans. $9.99 for the voice line, 30 for data and text messages as needed or there is a family unlimited option. The website will spell it out exactly. The plans are not discounted or altered by various retailers.

Your ATT to ATT phone calls do not use minutes and you do get rollover

Thanks everyone, your responses were great! It looks like I could get the iPhone for roughly $20 more per phone than I'm paying right now. Ill be heading into a store to talk to someone regarding it soon...

I think I read Verizon is going to get in the iphone game soon.

DH and I both have Iphones. We have 1400 shared mins and the data plan on each phone. I don't pay for texting, we don't use it and there are many apps for the iphone for free to text with. Anyway, the total bill before dh's work discount is around $140/mo. Hope that helps.

Something to think about. 2 years ago around july 4th is when the iphone was launched. Then last year, same time the iphone 3 g came out.

You might want to wait until july, or june to make sure a new version isn't coming out. All depends, if you would be happy to have the old one, or the would be jealous if a new one came out after you bought.

My iphone plan is $50 a month on top of the regular cell plan (which is an old cingular plan is not longer offered by AT&T so the price for that isn't really important). Just be for warned, taxes and stuff for the iphone will add a little on to your bill as well. Mine breaks down to $30 a month for unlimited internet (which is not optional you must have the data plan to run the phone), then I have unlimited text messages for $20 a month (just one line). I think after taxes it probably adds closer to $60 a month to the traditional cell phone bill, so it's not cheap when you look at it that way but if you use the features of the phone it's worth it.

I have to say if you won't use most of the iphone features, then there are better smartphone options out there that might cost less.

I have an iPhone through AT&T....I pay $88 a month, which breaks down to-
$40 for 450 min, 5000 night/weekend
$30 data plan
$5- 200 text
$13 various taxes/fees
I use my iPhone more for all the other features rather than a phone it seems LOL It's such a neat little gadget to have, the phone is just a little bonus.

I have the iPod Touch 2nd Gen 8GB. I pay nothing extra for communications. I do everything over WiFi. I use Skype to phone over WiFi.

I have to say if you won't use most of the iphone features, then there are better smartphone options out there that might cost less.

Can you specify what features you are talking about and also what some of these other smartphones are?

Maggie
