Hello all,
We have decided after much deliberation to fly to Orlando this July. We are from Ontario, Canada but flying out of Buffalo as the prices seem to be cheaper than Toronto.
What I am curious about it the best priced airline. So far thinking Southwest (which also includes 2 free bags per person) but just wanted some input from the boards. Also, do you know if Southwest ever drop their prices... they have increased by about $30 from February so thinking probably not.
Does anyone know of any promotions that are out right now as well?

+ We are also needing advice on a shuttle service. Are not staying in Disney and the Resort we are at does not offer an airport shuttle service. Would be for 3 people (2 adults, 1 child). Debating also between a shuttle or cab. We are staying fairly close to SeaWorld so what would a cab cost?

Have never had to worry about this as we usually have stayed in Disney but this "trip" is for a dance competition so have to stay outside Disney.

THANKS!

If you can swing only one checked bag per person JetBlue is another option. I live in Buffalo and last Nov. we split it. Southwest going to Orlando and JetBlue coming backup. It worked out well. The kids actually preferred JetBlue because of the TV's.

Depending on when in July and if it's a weekend, allow yourself plenty of time to cross the border.

We fly out of Buffalo often. Your choices for cheapest will be Jetblue, Southwest and Airtran. Just remember to figure in the bag fees for Airtran. I don't know your dates but I've gotten emails from Jetblue and Airtran in the last few days for sales so make sure to check.
Southwest has been going higher and higher over the last year or so and aren't always the cheapest anymore.
Sometimes we mix it up and grab one way fares from 2 of those 3 to come out with the cheapest fare. Southwest may come down for a sale, but it's never a good idea to count on that.

I'm not sure about a shuttle from MCO because we always rent a car.

Thanks to both of you for your tips. I have joined Jet Blue's email list so keeping my eyes peeled on that as well.

Right now Southwest is looking to be 270 Return (there Southwest and then back is Air Tran).

We definitely won't leave it until last minute. We are travelling mid-week BUT the day before July 4th so pretty certain it will be busy.

I didn't even think of using two different airlines. That might be an idea because I am seeing cheaper flights on JetBlue on the way there and Southwest return.

we're flying out of Buffalo in a few weeks (also from ON) via Air Tran. It's my understanding that if you now book through Southwest for the Air Tran flights, you get the 2 free checked bags per person :)

I can't speak for the pricing in July, but for my dates it saved us WELL over $1000 to fly out of Buffalo for our family of 4 :thumbsup2

I was just looking through the flights and just noted that. Agree, that would save quite a bit!
