WOW... I've been looking up prices from YVR - MCO and even SEA-MCO and I don't know if it's just me but the prices have seemed to have gone up substantially -- anybody else noticing this?

Has anybody heard of any deals/seat sales going on as I'm finding piddly. :(

I am planning a big big vacation - hubby and I going with my bro and his family.

HI there, right now we are planning a DL trip in may and i cant believe how much air canada's price out of yvr is...it is INSANE!!! They want 2600 for our family of 5 to fly...we are heading to seatac and for us to fly is just under 1000 dollars:thumbsup2 ...this means for flight and 10 nights at the howard johnson, we are coming in at 2000 dollars...there is no way i am paying 2600 just for flight...good luck in finding a deal, i am very happy with what i am paying out of seatac with alaska air, just not happy that i have to drive to seattle...oh well, money saved!!!

We normally travel to SeaTac by Quick Shuttle, but we managed to get a fairly OK rate and bought our flight tickets in late-January.

We drove to Sea for our Sept trip but when we went this Feb we paid under 1000 for both of us return .. I think it was about 450pp with all the taxes etc but now prices are in the 600 range. It may just be too soon to search for an August flight.

I've been looking into this for a few weeks. The cheapest way right now is from Seattle. Just keep watching - sign up for a few of the email updates. I get Air Canada and Alaska Air.

Try doing a search on Orbitz or Kayak to get an idea of which airlines to look at directly. You might be able to get a better deal directly from the airlines.

I would definitely drive down to Seattle and fly from there - never from Vancouver, just too expensive. Have you looked at Southwest Airlines? I've seen flights that are $99 each way from Seattle to MCO - they aren't direct mind you (usually have to change somewhere) but for that price who cares.

As I mentioned, I even checked SEA-MCO and those are expensive as well... it just may be too early for August. You can't even check South West for later August yet

Just keep checking. We were originally going to go for Spring break and the price varied daily. I've only begun to start trying to find something for the beginning of July and not ready to commit to anything yet.

Yes, you're right it's just a bit too early to book Southwest for August - but it's coming. I'm sure you'll be able to get a reasonable price but it is hurting a bit now that our dollar has lost a lot of its value.

OP:
I'm having the same problem. We're booked at WDW in September and the flights out of Seattle aren't even remotely looking good (yet). I looked out of Vancouver just for the heck of it and, besides the fact that there are NO direct flights to MCO out of YVR or Abbotsford, the prices are ridiculous! I have watches set up on Kayak, Alaska Air and a few other sites, but haven't found a decent roundtrip yet. We don't mind one stop on the way there, but coming back we need to have a direct flight. With two children, stops are NOT the preferred way to fly :rotfl2:

Lots of luck to us all to find great flights at great prices! :wizard:

Hurting a bit?!?!? It's making me :headache: LOL

We're driving to Seattle from the island in Sept. We found $99.00 plus surcharges each way Air Tran
seattle to MCO. Even with $15 bag fees it beats flying out of YVR

i got a 99 dollar rate for december with american airlines. with taxes and exchnage rate came to 140 cad per person from seattle.

oh thats 1 way i should say.

Let's keep each other in mind! If we find any good rates we'll tell each other. :)

we had direct flights for our Sept trip, but we drove to Seattle -- this last trip we had 2 stops each way but the price was right and we got to fly out of Vancouver.

Yes, agreed! I'll put you on my Friends list and WHEN (thinking positively!) you or I find a great deal, we'll let the other one know :goodvibes

We had wicked flights last October - direct return on Alaska out of Seattle for $335 each total! Having non-direct flights is probably just asking for trouble with my boys (LOL!), but if we have to stop once going to MCO, we'll deal with it :thumbsup2

:goodvibes HI there, for everyone on here that has flown out of seatac, i need to know of a good motel to stay in the night before...i have been trying to find one, we need two rooms, and we are looking at 300 canadian for one night :scared1: (crazy, since it is just over 900 canadian for 10 nights at the HOJO)...i just want somewhere clean, with a shuttle and that we can leave our vehicle...any recommendations would be very appreciated...thanks for any help anyone can give me, i really appreciate it

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of you. We're not going again until next year but I still check the prices and shop around anyway - talk about forward planning. But if I do see anything, I'll be sure to let everyone know. Here's hoping. :thumbsup2

Try the Days Inn Seattle - Sea Tac or the Holiday Inn Express SeaTac. Do a search on Travelocity and specify the airport and you will get a whole range of options.

Keep checking daily for the days that you want to fly and be will to alter them by a day or two and you will find a deal.
Last week I was able to book SEA - MCO Thursday Sept. 24 - Monday October 12 for $240.00 USD each return including all taxes on American Airlines.
This does have a single stop in Dallas TX but only for just over an hour.
Keep looking and I am sure that you will be able to find something clase to that for you dates.
It is always much cheaper to drive to Seattle and pay to park your car than to fly out of Vancouver. We have always found a deal at a hotel near the airport so you pay for one night at the hotel and then get free parking for a week or two and they have a free shuttle to and from the airport. Last time we stayed at the Doubletree suites at Southcentre for $105.00 and it included parking for two weeks and breakfast as well as the shuttle.

Keep looking and have a great vacation

Thanks for the hotel recommendation. Off to check American Airlines.
