Cheaper to Uber everywhere?

I am struggling to find a reasonable price on a rental car for 5 adults under $500. We are staying offsite in a condo in Windsor Hills where Disney property is very close. I am now wondering if Uber everywhere would be a better option, especially with paying to park added in. Has anyone done this staying offsite?

How many days? 2 trips per day?

According to the Uber fair estimator it's about $25 each way - $50 per day.

Yes, you'd need to price the trips and see if it makes sense. Don't forget to include tip, too.

Animal Kingdom is very close to Windsor Hills but Magic Kingdom is further so your Uber prices would vary. You would also have to factor in your trips back and forth from the airport plus some trips for grocery items, etc. if planning meals at Windsor hills. It will really depend how long your trip is. If you haven't yet subscribed to the member clubs for different rental companies, you should do so, you'll get additional discounts.

You need to figure out the number of trips and an estimate of the cost of each trip.

Are you taking into account you'd need an XL vehicle for five people?
This is correct and a big difference in price. You will need XL (or Lyft Plus) any time you have more than four riders. If your group splits up, however, then you can just use X.

I would check RideGuru.com to get prices, because it will show you all classes of service and other options like Lyft and taxi.

One other strategy is available as well. You can Uber to AK or AKL and take the free Disney buses from there. Bus back to AKL at the end of the day and Uber home. That would be inconvenient, but it would be less expensive.

We ubered everywhere from wbc last trip and it was cheaper than a rental car. I’m not sure if that would hold true from Windsor hills.

I agree with JimMIA; in fact, I was going to make the same suggestion :) until I read his response.

You just need to determine which is more valuable to you - time or money.

I have priced them before and its never been $25 each way??
I may have had the locations wrong (I used "Windsor Hills" and a generic "Walt Disney World") or the type of car (5 adults) wrong.

What price did you get. Is it cheaper than renting a car?

$15 to DHS, AK and @17.50 to Epcot. Magic Kingdom is $25, so I guess with tip, probably close to $25. I know time of day matters too, this is middle of the day. Tomorrow I will price rope drop times. I have 2 free rides coming. 5 days in the park. But even if its $50/day, half of that is eaten up with parking prices if I had a car...

That's what I got, too. About $25 each way. I should have been more clear that what I found was an estimate and not an exact number for all trips at all times. I apologize.

It sure looks like for five days in the parks Uber will be less than the $500 car rental when you add parking and gas. A good option!

But keep looking at car rental prices. You may be able to get the car for in the $300s

It might be a little bit cheaper, but personally I would not stay at WH without a rental car just for convenience sake. It's so nice to hop in the car and go in the morning vs waiting for a pickup. Also if you want to grab any groceries or eat offsite, a car is so nice to have.

Keep in mind that 5 adults is likely going to need two Ubers, or the bigger (and more expensive) Uber option.
