Cheaper to fly Friday, Saturday or Sunday?

I'm planning a trip to Disney for March 2013 (and celebrating today's release of on-line 2013 Disney bookings, yay!!) We're hoping to fly out of Syracuse with JetBlue but of course, I can't book March yet! I've read online that Friday and Sunday are more expensive to fly but when I plug random 2012 dates into JetBlue's online booking, it looks like Saturday is more expensive! I want to book our trip with Disney but want the cheapest days to fly in/out.

What is your experience with flying JetBlue? What's the cheapest day out of Fri/Sat/Sun?

I don't have experience with Jetblue - I only fly Southwest. We went to WDW last March for spring break. We took the kids out of school a day early to go on Thursday as Friday was too expensive. We also returned home the following Saturday as Sunday fares were ridiculous. If you are going over spring break you have to be prepared for high fares.

The general rule of thumb: it's cheapest to fly on the days most people don't want to fly. For a route dominated by business travel, that does mean that Friday and Sunday are more expensive, because they want to get home Friday night and/or need to be in place to get started early Monday. For a leisure route (like anywhere-MCO) Saturday might well be more popular, and therefore more expensive.

My experience for my October trip was that on the first few days after JetBlue opened up the schedule, all days of the week were the same.

So my advice is to know what is a good fare, and be ready to buy when the schedule opens. Plus, its easier to change your hotel package than it is to change a airline ticket.

Thanks for the advice! I wish we didn't have to go during March Break but my husband and I are teachers so that's our only choice for an escape from the snow in Ontario! I realize now why Saturday would be higher prices to Orlando. I think I'll be booking Friday or Sunday.
