Cheaper Golf Options in Disney Area

My husband is an avid golfer. We live in Oklahoma, and rates are reasonable enough that he can usually play 2 or 3 times a month without breaking the budget. He would like to golf a few times while we are on vacation, but the rates are WAY higher than we are used to. I realize with the Water Park and more option he can play the 9 hole course (name escapes me), but I know he would love to do 18 holes on a nice course. Are there other non-Disney options nearby that would be more economical?

DVC members can golf for rates far below the normal rate by buying a DVC golf membership. The member can have 3 other guest at the membership rate. He golfs for around $50 to $70 per round depending on the time of year we go. Maybe you could post your dates on the DVC planning board and see if any golfers would like to include your husband in the round. I know my husband would love to share his membership rate with others.

you aren't by any chance military or retired military are you? Because military get a special rate after 10am at Disney.
