Cheap Transportation from Sanford

I was able to find super cheap airfare on Allegiant, so now I'm trying to figure out how to get to WDW super cheaply as well. I've found a car rental for $25 for the day, but the drop off is MCO.

So two questions:

1. Is there anything cheaper than about $50 to get us to WDW and back to Sanford?

2. If we do drop the car at MCO, can we then take ME to WDW?

We're still working on the coming home part.

1. I would tend to doubt you'll find anything cheaper than that. The one thing you have to keep in mind, when flying in and out of Sanford, are the addtl transportation costs. It isn't cheap to get to WDW from Sanford..usually about $200 r/t for a car service.

2. If you have previously registered with DME, sure, no problem. But, you have to do that before you arrive.

"Cheap" and "transportation from Sanford" don't go in the same sentence! You won't find anything for less than $25 so take what you have, if you can figure out the DME & return trip part. We looked into this a few times (also because of Allegiant's low fares) but we never came out ahead after factoring in airport transfers. $225 RT was the best car service we found. There might be better deals out there but I hadn't found any at the time. I don't remember exactly but I think a cab was $120 one way. That seems about right considering a cab from MCO to WDW is around $65. There is a taxi fare estimator somewhere on this board to check it.

I think Sanford is a good deal if you would rent a car anyway. Otherwise, most car services or rental car costs will negate your savings on the airfare.
