cheap trader pins

My daughter has started to trade pins. Are there any deals out there to buy before we go in Dec. Thanks for any help,

I always get lots of pins off of ebay - sometimes for as little as $1.30/pin. The more you buy, the cheaper you can get them. When you're reading the description, just make sure they are all "Disney" pins that you can trade in the pakrs and not Sedesma or anything else that you cannot trade. Good luck!

We just purchased a bunch of pins for $1.10 each off of ebay. It was a set your own lot (got 130 for a group of 12 people). Look for disney pin lots and compare the sellers. We received the pins and were happy with what we got...nothing we'd keep but great for trading!

Check out the collectors board, there is a comprehensive thread of good/bad internet pin sellers. Alot of good DIS members have contributed to keep us away from counterfeits.
Also, if you are planning a visit to the Character Warehouse outlet, they have pins for trading. There was a temporary store up here at he beginning of the summer, and I picked up several booster packs, for 6.99, which is less than $2 a pin.

Be careful with the Ebay lots - there are sellers who sell "scrappers" or fake pins usually from China. They of course won't tell you they are fakes but when they are so cheap, they most likely are - who would sell something that cost them $6-15 for $1.10. I have ordered 3 lots from Ebay and only got about 10 possible scrappers out of 120 pins. You can look the pins up on PinPics.com.

I know that some people don't agree with this, but Disney pin trading rules say that the only requirement for a pin to be traded is that it have the disney imprint on the back. I would not spend a ton of money on pins for achild to trade when they are probably going to get scrappers in return. NO CM can refuse to trade with you if the pin has the disney logo. Everything I have ever gotten form ebay has been tradable according to these rules. I am buying them for my 5 year old to trade and have fun with, so I am not taking the time to research every one to find out if it is genuine. They fit disney's rules and that is ok by me. Serious pin traders really hate this attitude, byt the scrappers have gotten so prevasive that anything you trade for with a CM is likely to be one.

I agree with princessmom as I just traded 40 this past week. We traded for what we wanted and even probably got some in return that were what you call scrappers but DD loved them. I think for the kids it is just the fun of it. My DD's don't trade for a collection but for what they like. True pin traders know what to look for and only get what they want. Let the kids have some fun! I know I may not be in the majority but isn't Disney about kids mostly?

Just to clarify the rules that a PP stated:

•The main criteria to judge whether a pin is tradable or not is that it must be a metal pin bearing a “©Disney”mark on the back that represents a Disney Event, Place or Location, Character or Icon.

•Pins should be in good, undamaged, tradable condition

You should be able to find pins on clearance through Disney, and your local Disney Outlet store. I've heard about some great deals there!

glad to hear this as I bought several (7 I think) booster packs from an ebay seller. I was 'wondering' how they were selling them in the package so cheap. I only paid 8.05 for them and shipping for all 7 was like between $4 and $5. I was hoping that the seller had acquired them 'legally'. I feel better knowing that chances are they did. It's a touchy subject people selling on ebay for such cheap prices. I'm not going to 'accuse' anyone of acquiring their 'goods' in an illegal manner. But sometimes you do have to wonder. In this case, I think I now know how they got them.
