Aside from the great pool and the mini-golf, what other cheap things are there to do near the Dolphin? We'll be there for a whole week, but obviously won't be in the parks every single day. What else can we do near there that doesn't cost much?

the boardwalk is right by there you can walk around there and just find a seat and take it all in.

you could also go to downtown disney, but that is not right by the dolphin. I am sure they have buses though.

we stayed there a couple of years ago and all our extra time we spent at the pools and at the boardwalk.

I guess I should mention that we're bringing two 14 year old girls (though crowd to keep entertained)

The Dolphin has a great pool complex. Wouldn't your teens like to spend time there?

Oops! I see you already know about that.

Downtown Disney looking in the shops. That's a great way to spend a day.

Its not just the pool at the dolphin because they do have water volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, arcade, at the boardwalk at night they have entertainment, I dont know if this is nightlly though. In april we took our 3 ds there. They wanted to play the carnival games and dh and I watched the fire eating guy. They have some palm reader lady, sorry morally we arent into that and they have the espn, ice cream place and bakery for snacks. You could also rent a surry bike. Also at the swan/dolphin you can rent boats in the shape of a swan. I think they are pedel boats. That could be fun. Have a great trip.

Try taking a resort bus to the TTC and hop a monorail to the Poly from there. At the marina, you can rent little boats-Water Sprites? They are small but feel very mighty! There is alot to explore on the lake, and they charge by the 1/4 hour. The boats hold 2 people, and each daughter will have to be accompanied by an adult. (You have to be 16 to take one out by yourself.) My DS13 went out with his grandfather and loved it!

Also, the Poly is alot of fun to explore. Captain Cooks is a nice spot for a quick lunch and serves dogs, burgers, salads, wraps, etc.
Check it out!:D

Unfortunately, you can't pool-hop over to the Yacht and Beach Club, but you can go to Beaches and Cream at that hotel and order the Kitchen Sink!!! It will easily feed four people (think giant, no super giant banana split in a kitchen sink) The Boardwalk is a very busy place at night. Your teens will love the Dolphin, most teens do. Renting those surry bikes are not cheap, but they look like fun. Kimonos, the restaurant in the Swan, is a karioke place. On the lobby floor of the Dolphin are all kinds of alcoves, some have games. There is an arcade room on the lower level near Tubbies; last time I was at the Dolphin, there was a pianist in the lobby entertaining the guests. Your girls can browse (not spend!!) at the boutique on the Lobby floor. I hope you enjoy your week at the Dolphin; I'm almost positive your girls will.

Check into the Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk. In the past during the summer months, they would offer at least one "Teen Night". Admission was usually free and the girls could buy soft drinks there. If they are not running the teen night, they sometimes have a live DJ right outside the Hall on the weekends.
He is usually there until 10-11:00 PM. After that, the Hall opens to the over 21 crowd.
