Cheap Tampa flight next August

Don't know what is happening, but just booked LHR to TPA via Detroit, back via Atlanta for £382 each. Haven't seen these sort of prices for years, it was with Ebookers. Last two weeks of August, get booking if they are still about.

do you have a long layover in detroit?
detroit used to be one of the fastest airports to go through immigration/customs, but it can now be hit or miss..
if you're unlucky enough to come through with several other international flights, you can end up taking a much longer time than normal..

i would give it a minimum of 2 hours, but 3 hours is much safer...

i assume you're flying delta (with the detroit and altlanta stops, that points to delta)...
the terminal that delta uses in detroit has some really nice stores now, so something to make use of your time

Hi Beth, two hours fourteen minutes, I should think that will be sufficient. Went via Detroit about five years ago, don't remember any problems.
Just pleased I got the price. Checked again just now, there are still flights available at around £383.

that should be enough...
yes, a few years ago...even a year ago, you could get through immigration/customs super fast in detroit..
but now more and more international flights come through there...
my mom and nephew flew into detroit last month when 5 jumbos arrived simultaneously..
they're americans and it even took them a full hour just to get through immigration...
talk about insane!!!!!

but once you're through, it's relatively easy to get to your next flight..
and there are lots of flights flying down to florida, so should be ok even if you're delayed..

the delta terminal (called mcnamara terminal) really is nicely designed...anyway, i like it a lot...
and there are nice stores and restaurants there if you happen to get delayed...
i'm originally from detroit, so i've spent lots and lots and lots of time in that terminal!!

Wow I'm going to see if any more left at that price. We had said no disney but dh loves clearwater so these would be perfect

i tried pricing to tampa, but without luck...prices were just as high at orlando
