Cheap Souvenirs ... in Bulk??

So I know most likely this is an impossibility, but I thought I'd ask. Does anyone have ideas for super cheap (as in less than $1 each) souvenirs at Walt Disney World? I mean, even if it's a whole package of little erasers, or something like that.

Here's my situation. I'm going on my first ever Disney trip in May. YAY! Every summer, I help out with my church's children's musical. Like... about 50 kids. I'll be missing a key week of the practices to go on the trip, so I'd love to have something to bring back to them. Any suggestions? Maybe... packages of stickers, where I could cut them apart and give each kid one or two, or something like that?

I also would be looking for something fairly cheap (but not as cheap) for my co-workers and the other leaders of the musical.

The reason I'm asking in advanced is I want to have some good ideas in my head before, so I'm not looking for that the entire time, and stressing out about it. Also, if I know it's pretty much impossible before I go on the trip, I wont' even bother.

:welcome: to the DISboards!

Rather than trying to find something in bulk for cheap at WDW -- I suggest checking your local Dollar Store, Target or other discount retailers. They often have fairly cheap stuff in the stationery or party supply departments, and many families actually pre-buy such "souvenirs" rather than expensive trinkets at WDW. Oriental Trading also has a lot of Disney themed stickers, tattoos, pencils, erasers, bling, etc. at a decent price for bulk. The kids don't need to know you didn't actually get it at WDW.

Enjoy your vacation!

what you'll find at your price point for all those kids is equal to the disney stickers, etc you would find at dollar tree. If you want to give each kid a disney themed item,I'd get some at dollar tree and give them out. They won't know where you bought them anyway. For the adults, I'm not sure what you are looking for,but I know I don't really like cheap souvenirs from other people's vacations..... that said that's just my personal opinion...you could get them all a 5.00 plastic pen that says disney world,or a cheap keychain. Again, the nicer souvies are usually more than 5.00 at Disneyworld.

the ideas offered above are great-and I've used them in the past myself. one other I used was to buy several of the larger sized bags of mickey shaped pretzels that I provided to my kid's teachers at the time to share w/the class as a special snack. for co-workers since it seemed like we were always having a potluck every month for some occasion or another I would buy some bags of mickey shaped pasta to use in my contribution. 'mickey mac n cheese' always got a good reception (and requests from coworkers to let then know how much per bag it cost so they could preorder some for me to bring back to them on my next trip).

Pressed pennies. It will cost you more time, but get them as you go through the parks and let the recipients get different ones and maybe trade among themselves. They're much more special than stickers you could get at the dollar store and are and the cost for 50 kids is $25.50.

I think the pressed penny suggestion is awesome. Personally I wouldn't waste time buying trinkets from the Dollar Tree to pass out. Most kids are going to realize you didn't get the stickers at WDW anyways. What about bringing snack food back to share with them as a group? Like a bunch of Goofy gummies or caramel apples, etc.

How about going on ebay and buy disney pins!

For 100 pins it will cost you about $50.00.

Not sure how you feel about candy, but they do have bunches of Mickey lolly pops with I think 5 in a bunch. You could buy 10 bunches for the kids. For the adults you could do keychains or you could buy pens and a pack of sticky notes and then separate them out and give each adult a pen tied to a themed sticky note set.

Thank you for all of your suggestions! I thought of the pressed penny idea, but was a bit worried about the time factor of that. Although, it might be less time than I'd spend standing in line! ;) I also may go the candy/sucker route. Good to know that there are some decent ideas out there, though. Thanks!

I used to buy the packages of Disney pens, and then split them up and pass them out one by one when I got back. Seems like the prices of those packages of pens has gone way up in the last couple of years, but I think they have packages of pencils too.

I love key chains or any kind of food. Does the DTD still have the kitchen store? And if they do , do they have a website to order from? I loved that store when I first saw it in 06. It still maybe fun to look at even from a website.

You are all amazing. I seriously didn't even think there would be a chance, or that you'd think I was absolutely crazy for trying to plan souvenirs so early. (although maybe you DO think that, and you're just being polite and not saying anything... :) )

Good to know that there's stuff out there.

When DD was little she would want to bring something home for her, dance glass, girl scout troop, Sunday school class, classroom.

So I went the route that others had suggested and asked if I could bring snack for that day: mickey pretzels, mickey cookies, those bundles of small lollipops, something for the group to share, that way you can spend what you had and get enough to go around. For the adults, I second - on the mickey pasta, for mac and cheese, pasta salad for a gatherings, one year some mickey packaged coffee, tea, and brought to the office to share. I used my mickey cookie cutter to make cookies, and decorated them with Disney sprinkles these were a big hit, and can be used for both groups.

Yes the kitchen store is still at DTD, and has some interesting things. As far as I know there is not a separate website for them.
