Cheap/safe hotel southeast of Disney?

We need an inexpensive hotel for a night after we leave WDW on our way to Miami. We'll be leaving MK after Wishes and the kids probably won't want to drive far, but I would prefer to be heading in the right direction. There doesn't seem to be anything on the Turnpike south of the Kissimmee area until Fort Pierce, which would be too far. There are cheap hotels in Kissimmee, but the reviews sound a little sketchy. It can be worn and not perfectly clean, and I don't care about a hot breakfast or other amenities since we'll be hitting the road early, but I'd like somewhere relatively quiet and safe.

Can anyone recommend a hotel for under $100 that can accommodate a family of five, southeast of WDW? Has anyone stayed in the Super 8? It has suites with separate bedrooms, which would be ideal.

If you look at the map, you'll see that there is basically nothing between Kissimmee and Ft. Pierce. It's just open agricultural land.

Depending on where you are going in Miami, WDW to Miami is only about 4 hours -- so not a bad drive unless you have to be somewhere in Miami before lunch. One thing you do NOT want to do is leave very early and hit the area south of West Palm Beach between 7 - 9 AM on a weekday. If you do, you'll be in the middle of rush hour.

We're taking a cruise the next morning, so we're hoping to get there by 11 a.m. At least it will be a Saturday, so no rush hour worries. I had no idea there was nothing there until I started looking for a hotel. I've never driven south from Disney . We definitely want to check out of our WDW hotel because of the cost as a family of five, even if we can only head twenty minutes in the right direction.

Would going over to Melbourne for the night (an hour or so from Disney) and then taking I-95 to Miami on that Saturday morning make sense? I'm pretty sure that I've seen a wide range of hotels over in that general Melbourne area.

Port St Lucie would be a convenient and safe place to stop. PGA village has a lot of nice hotels. There is a Hilton Garden Inn, a Staybridge Suite, and Sheraton Timeshare in that area.

PSL is about 2 and a half hours South East of Orlando.

Have a great vacation!

This might be a good option.

Ordinarily I-95 south of West Palm Beach would be slow, but on a Saturday AM it should be fine. In addition, I-95 takes you directly into downtown Miami and is the easiest route to the Port of Miami.

Just don't exit I-95 between NW 163 St and the Port exit...bad area.
