We are going with another family whom are on a tighter budget than us.....I don't want them feeling uncomfortable when going out for meals....we are staying at the Pop...we will be travelling out to the mall and outlets etc.....I was wandering where the best would be to eat and if there were any coupons that we could use....

There are loads are very reasonable places to eat around WDW :)

Off the top of my head, Denny's, Chilli's, Shoney's, IHOP will all do a filling meal for under $50 for 2 adults and 2 children.

You can do it cheaper still at the buffet restaurants like Golden Corral, Ponderosa etc but I've never been to them so can't comment.

All the eating places are literally everywhere as soon as you leave WDW property - main clusters include the Crossroads area at Lake Buena Vista (just up from DTD), the US192 (also known as Irlo Bronson Highway) and of course I Drive itself.

Golden Coral or Ponderosa have an all you can eat breakfast and are also cheap for dinner as well. We have eaten at both and the food was fine. They also have Pizza Huts too. Florida has some good cheap restaurants and with the dollar so weak currently it makes it much cheaper to eat everywhere. Lots of restaurants have vouchers as you enter the diner as well as some hotels in the lobby.

I think it is thoughtful of you to think of your friends situation like that - have fun:thumbsup2

You could also try Perkins, Pizza Hut - I suppose McDonalds would be cheap for just one night. At DTD Wolfgang Puck express is reasonable enough. Ruby Tuesday's at Florida Mall on 192 - have a varied menu & a salad bar. Never tried the buffet one's but know some people recommend them.

Another vote for Golden Corral, especially their evening buffet. Steak cooked to order as much as you like and at a bargain price! :thumbsup2 And the cherry pie was also delicious. Pick up a voucher booklet (you'll find them outside shops and such) and you'll even get a discount.

insted of going to macdonalds go to Chick-fil-a better food

Olive Garden sometimes has specials - i wouldn't call them cheap, but not expensive either..

sweet tomatoes is very reasonable and it's all you can eat....and the food is excellent....

Bob Evans outlets on the 192 are also worth a visit. We are staying on ID next trip, but will go back once as it was DS's fave!

There's a golden Coral at the next exit to WDW. It cost us $42 for the 4 of us including drinks and Ponderosa was cheaper at $36 as ds who is under 5 ate free. Wished I'd eaten there more often.

Thank you guys....so where is the nearest Ponderosa, IHOP, Golden Correl and Sizzler near to Disney is it the Crossroads??

We have just eaten at Orlando Ale house this evening(LBV). Friendliest place in the world, no less than 6 staff on the way out said "you guys have a great evening".
DW & DS both had chicken fajitas great sized portions. I had baked seafood sampler with fish, scallops, clams, shrimp and 4 seafood stuffing balls. We all shared Captain jacks dessert and unlimited sodas $44 total + $8 tip.
We went in last year for starter we shared Nachos layered with chicken and melted cheese $9.95 that was it we could not eat any more, only ate about 2/3 of it and we were stuffed £5 for 3 of us:goodvibes
We never eat in Disney, too many great places offsite

I highly recommend Sweet Tomatoes on I-Drive (at the junction with Kirkman Road) - extremely cheap only about $8 or $9 an adult (if I remember correctly). It is a buffet salad bar with homemade soups, baked potato, pastas, breads followed by fruit and ice-cream sundaes (make your own). Loads of locals go here too so that is always a good recommendation :goodvibes

Check out www.souplantation.com for details.

Sorry should have also mentioned Romano's Macaroni Grill on the 192. Great value Italian style family dining - one of our favourites and the kids love it as they are allowed to draw over the table cloth! (encouraged by the servers)

They also do a mean glass of wine with very large glasses ;)

Hiya
We stayed near the crossroads in January, and there are plenty of cheapish places to eat, TGI Fridays (which is a lot cheaper than over in the uk), there is a cici's Pizza just off Palm Parkway, (the next turn off from Crossroads) and this doeas an all u can eat pizza salad and pasta buffet for $5. I haven't been but i know quite a few who have and they have said it is well owrth a trip.

Golden Coral everytime for our family-use vouchers in booklets in all hotel lobbies (not WDW) Great choice of food and cheap! Good for kids-especially if they're fussy. Plenty of fresh veg also(but this probably won't sell it to the kids!).

Another vote for Golden Corrall:thumbsup2

Food was excellent and I found it was fresher than at Sizzler and certainly better than Ponderosa. We save and save so as not to be worried by our budget when we go and STILL eat there a couple of times a week.

Best burgers are at Wendys. Have fun!!

We absolutley love Denny's,there burgers are great(i recommend the mushroom swiss),thick milkshakes, and kids eat free on Tues nights, from 4pm-10pm.(I-Drive)
Bennigan's is another favourite of ours, hubby loves the whisky glaze steak,i love the ribs, irish haystack onion rings are also good, free refills on soda.Kids have there own set meal which inc entree(pizza, burger, chicken strips),drink and cookie.(I-Drive)
Golden Corral-superb-what more can i say.(I-Drive)
It may be out of your friends price range but you should give Bahama Breeze i try, more expensive than other places, can be about a 20-30min wait, but there food is a must,we go at least twice whilst we there on holiday.OOh i could drink one of there Strawberry Pina Colada's right now.

Personally we dont like Ponderosa on I drive, maybe we went there on an off day,but to me is was dirty, food warm.

You can get discount coupon booklets in most hotel lobbys and at the entrance/exits to most supermarkets which will get you a dollar or two of your meals or a free appetiser etc. I'd also have a good look on the internet you can get menus etc for most of the major restaurant chains to give you a rough idea of what it will cost to eat there :)

No mention of Taco Bell? Seriously this is Tasty Mexican style fast food and everyone I've taken there has loved the food - it's cheap and cheerful - we fed a family of 7 for $11 last time we were there - probably more of a quick stop option than a 'night out' but fun all the same! Also as mentioned before Chilli's is not too expensive and I love their frozen Magharitas's!
