I'm looking for the best rate for a hotel close to Disney for a one night stay in mid-December. There's 5 of us, the youngest being 3 (not sure if that makes a difference). Has anyone gotten a good rate at a hotel outside Disney for 5 people? I am looking to spend around $50 if possible.

Any information would be great!

You could try the Holiday Inn near Downtown Disney. They are re-opening in mid-November and are offering specials deals through mid-Dec. I think rates start at $57/night. www.hiorlando.com

...be careful - with all this room you may want to continue staying there! :thumbsup2

"For only $79, visit Orlando and stay in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo measuring about 1600 square feet. Diamond Resorts International's Polynesian Isles Resort is offering this special 7 days a week in September. It's just $10 more from Oct. 1 - Dec. 20. Rates at this resort are regularly $179. You must book by Sept. 16.

Each 2-bedroom condo sleeps up to 6 people and includes a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer and a screened patio/balcony. Resort amenities include multiple pools, a fitness center, sports courts and a putting green.

Blackout Dates: Nov. 26-28

For full details on this resort and to book through Diamond International, click here. Or call 800-438-2929 (5AM-6PM PT) and mention promo code ZSUTZ. When rates first come up on Diamond International's Web site, they will include all taxes. Click on the price to see the breakdown per day. "

Thank you for the replies. I searched hotwire (but they only will search for up to 4 people) and found a few really, really, really dirt cheap hotels. LOL $19 was the cheapest. It's a bit scary but for that price for one night I'm not too concerned.

I'll check out the suggestions. Thanks again!

Travelzoo.com has $29 for Comfort Inn LBV right now.
For an extra $10 you can at least know what hotel you're getting.

I would be very, very careful choosing a hotel for $19 a night in the Orlando area.......unless I was absolutely sure where the hotel is located and WHAT hotel it is I wouldn't do it.........you could end up with a lot more than you bargained for.......even if it is for just one night........

I searched on expedia yesterday and booked the HoJo Maingate East for $28 with tax! There were several on expedia for less than $40. Most of them with completely mixed reviews on tripadvisor, etc. But I'm willing to risk it since it is just one night and we'll be out the door first thing in the morning heading over to POR!

Thanks everyone!
