cheap on site ??

ok how do ppl get good deals on disney land hotles..
im planing on going in oct and my days are flexbule as of now.
I would love to find a way to stay on site but dont know if we can.

I know we want to do a package so we can get the food and tickets togetehr.

How I do it is have an annual pass and watch the passholder website like a hawk. There were discounted rates for October 2007. We stayed at GC concierge at the end of September for like half the price.

In October we got the Gay Days rate for the GCH. We paid $229 a night. Which was just wonderful! So I would keep an eye out for that for next October.

The DLH was $189 for the Gay Days rate. You can also buy the tickets at a discount. But not the food that I know of. To me the savings is worth it though.

im also looking in to the AP's do you guys know if the charcter meals are 10 or 15% off with the 380 one.
Dose my whole party need the same pass or could i just get the excpicve one and use it at the meals and get them the cheaper one?
I am almost thinking this could work out better.

We booked the GCH this year for $209/night...it seems the last 2 years it has been the 1st weekend of October, and the hotel deals are usually available a few days before and a few days after the event. I heard about it in '06, but was too scared to book, in '07 I couldn't pass up the deal and booked anyways.

That's what it was $209 a night, that's what we paid for the GCH. I couldn't remember and looked it up. Maybe I was seeing the increased price too!

Your whole party does not need the same pass. I only have the deluxe (10%) off meals, but I believe the premium does give 15% off.

I know I held off for a couple years (still kicking myself) on getting AP's, even though we were making two trips (at least ) per year. It is amazing the things I have learned here!!!

ya if i would of made it befor my trip that i just took well then i could of had 3 on the same ap..lol but were going to try for two, one in oct 08 and dec 08
we did christmas this time and it was wonderfull but i would love to see more.. and stay at night this time.. we missed alot becouse we had such a good view fireworks, so said seeing them back at hotle was as good. it is but still we need to go again lol

and wow about the ap's i though to get 10% off food or down town disney i had to have the big one..but the 259 one would work. i just wouldnt get 15% off the meals..humm seems worth it to me

They should be...I had to change my dates, and was able to book new rooms in August

The other thing to remember is you are booking hotel only - so you pay when you stay, so you could make the ressies whenever, and you can cancel 72 hours prior.

how can i pay when i stay? how much do they ask in advance.
I usely make a package with tickets and hotle though disney website or phone..they wanted 300 last time and rest paid 30days before travle. and can i buy the AP's at the park?

That is the beauty with a hotel only. You call the hotel, and make the reservation. You reserve the room with a credit card, but they do not charge you, not a dime, until you show up. So, if you were to call them now, you would have the reservation, but would not be required to pay anything until October! They will mail you confirmation of the room, and then you just sit back and wait, again with a 72 hour cancellation if you change your mind .

I assume you can buy AP's at the park, I just bought 2 day hoppers from Safeway, and upgraded while I was there at my convenience.

wow thats awsome I have to fix my card (some how 217 over from my trip to dl..but cool ty for that info ive never even though of just reserving it and never paying that helps alot..

wow i just had an idea how to get a third trip in on this ap (just to fill like im getting bang for my buck lol and thats easter or aprail of 2009 lol my mom and dad would love to go again by then (we went dw 2005)
