Hi. What would you make for a cheap supper, when You have a 20 and 16 year old, that likes different things?
I got to make a plan and go out tomorrow for little as possible groceries.16 year old says- pogos-pogos and pogos, then the 20 year old-chicken.

Tell them they have to eat the same thing if you're cooking. Other option is that they can cook for themselves (old enough for sure). Don't know what a pago pago is though.

Yeah, what is a pogo?

Just let them know you're not a short-order cook. Because I work and the kids have activities/homework, our family meals during the week are very simple, but made-from-scratch, using mostly fresh ingredients. Most meals we make have short prep times and then pop into the oven or simmer on the stove types.

Some ideas:
1. Free-range chicken ($10 from my local butcher) that I roast with a dijon/apricot glaze. Serve with rice and stir fried veggies (broccoli or baby bok choy)
2. Lettuce wraps with pork filling
3. Beef (or use ground turkey/chicken) burritos with lettuce/peppers/white onion/grated cheese/salsa/sour cream -- the kids can do most of the chopping and grating
4. Spaghetti and homemade tomato meat sauce (make double batch of sauce for next day). Serve with a beet/lettuce/goat cheese salad.
5. Lasagna (using previous day's sauce)
6. Roast top sirloin beef (dijon mustard/garlic pepper marinade). Serve with roasted veggies.

Have fun in the kitchen!

Hi again. I know in the States they are called Corn Dogs. Breaded weiners on a stick.

I like to make meals that I can make leftovers with because then I feel like I am getting more value from a meal, plus less cooking time.
For example, yesterday I made low fat yummy meatloaf, froze a few slices for some sandwiches four drive down to WDW on Friday (yeah :cool1::cool1::cool1:) and tonight I am making meatloaf pasta. I will add leftover meatloaf to jarred pasta sauce, add to pasta of choosing, tonight I'm using rigatoni. Soooo good.
Some other examples:
When making a whole chicken, do not throw the bones or fat away. Put all in a pot w/ veggies, garlic, onions, & cover w/ water & simmer for a few hrs to make a delicious broth you can use to make soup or freeze for future use.
I always save leftover rice & use it to make burritos. Just add what ever you have on hand, salsa, cheese, refried beans, leftover meat (any kind will do).
I have so many others I do, but really can't think right now. Sorry I'm in packing mode.

For Disney? Or just meals at home ideas?

Tonight, I'm making veggie chilli for Cinco de Mayo in my crock pot.

I just opened a big can of tomatoes, chick peas, kidney beans, frozen peas and a package of chilli seasoning. I'll let it cook for 4 hours and VOILA dinner!

If they don't like it....they don't eat. Mine are 9 and 15. The 15 year old usually eats a little what I cook and then makes her own dinner. The 9 year old doesn't have a choice, he eats what we make. We offered to teach him to cook but he thinks he's too young. I show no mercy when it comes to meals. I'm not their personal chef.

Jane's Pub Style Chicken Strips are good if you can get your pogo'er to eat em

We like: make your own pizzas, taco bar, chili w/ different fixings

Almost nice enough to grill now: hot dogs (almost a pogo!) burgers, chicken
