I am taking off to Disneyland in less then 3 weeks and was wondering if people could advise or recommend the best places to eat in the park and outside. Best places being the cheapest yet still half decent. I know the theme meals are nice, but from what I have seen they are not cheap.

any help would be appreciated. my family consists of myself, wife, and kids 14, 9, and 4.

thanks for your input.

There are quite a few places on Harbor. Our favorite is Mimi's Cafe. Prices are reasonable, and the serving sizes are HUGE - we tend to split meals.

Another option is Jamba in DTD. They now have oatmeal, granola smoothies, etc. It is a very inexpensive option for breakfast or lunch.

My daughter also likes the walk-up window at Tortilla Joe's. They are relatively cheap and the serving sizes are large.

My mom and I frequent Mimi's Cafe a lot here in Florida! We love it! We looked to see if there was one anywhere near DL or even in Anaheim, and we were sooo excited when we saw there's one right on Harbor. Can't wait! You should most definitely try Mimi's!
:cheer2:

...I almost forgot to mention this...

If you register on the Mimi's website, they will give you a coupon for a free breakfast. I registered each one of my family members (with their own email addresses). We just had breakfast for 4 and only paid for beverages.

We've only been to Mimis and Millie's once each, and we ordered totally different things at each place, but for what we got and how much we enjoyed it, we liked Millie's better. To-go order of mac and cheese (tasted "real"), order of garlic bread, and huge side salad, and it fed a ravenous 4 year old and two "eh, I could eat" adults, filling everyone's stomach nicely. Mimi's we had veggie burgers which were really good, but HUGE. Definitely should have shared with that one (if we had, the price we paid would have been lower and our enjoyment of Mimi's would have been higher!).

Also liked Coco's veggie burger (and chocolate cake).

While at the parks, we like sharing! Many things are big enough, even for two adults to share. And if someone is still hungry at the end of the meal? Move along and try something else, sharing again. The three of us get two breakfasts and share it all and are all happy...we do that at RiverBelle Terrace (where they have Mickey pancakes) and especially at Tomorrowland Terrace, where you can get b'fasts that include a beverage! Two of those each with a coffee, plus an organic juice box we'd bring in for DS anyway, and the three of us are nearly overfed. :)

Turkey Leg seems to be getting popular.

id say, its a good buy. :)

you guys are all awesome. i post a question before bed, get up, and have 5 answers and 100 views. all your feedback is hugely appreciated! i will certainly check out mimi's.

go to tortilla Joes and order the appetizer nachos. you can get them with chicken or beef, or they will do half and half. they are wonderful, and enough for 3 or 4 people to share. I think they are about $10.00, but could be wrong. We ate inside TJ's, relaxed and really enjoyed it. and we didn't even need a ressie!

I also really like California Pizza Kitchen. I haven't been to the one near DLR, but I called the CPK customer service number and they told me there is one across the street of DLR in Garden Walk (?) It's not extremely cheap, nor is it extremely expensive. Just depends on what you consider cheap. But it's pretty much my favorite restaurant! Just a suggestion!

I would also suggest Redd Rockett's Pizza Port in Tomorrowland -- the chicken fusilli is awesome! DH and I split a plate of that and get breadsticks to go with it.

Rancho Del Zocalo in Frontierland is also a good place to split meals, they have very large portions. The Hacienda salad is my favorite! :)

This is a great list thanks!!! Just so you know though... Burger Invasion is no longer... They closed this a few months ago.

We love all the restaurants in the Garden Walk area but not of them are cheap and you have to drive to get their.

Mimi's is great. There is also a Tony Roma's a few doors down, I'm not sure why it is never mentioned we thinks it's good with reasonable prices. McDonalds is also right next to Mimi's, cheap and quick.

As for in the park. To us the meals are not big enough to share, we are piggy's. Eat every bite! We really love the chicken strips at the Stage Door Cafe, you get fries with it and I think it's $7.99 or so. We also like Hungry Bear for burgers and chicken sandwiches. Another good on is a corn dog at the corn dog cart or a chimichanga at a cart. SO GOOD.y

Another great way to save some money is to take your own drinks into the park. Soda's or water are $3 each, money goes quick. 1 drink for all 5 of you for 1 meal is $15, for each meal that is almost $50 per day just in drinks:scared1:

Actually the original Mimi's Cafe is in Anaheim, on Euclid Ave. The location on Harbor is opposite Tomorrowland, the first thing you see when the Monorail leaves the park.

Along with bringing your own water, know that you can ask for a cup of ice water at counter service restaurants, and they should happily give you one, even if you're not ordering anything else.

In the courtyard of Rancho del Zocalo, in the "cart" that holds salsas and picante sauces, there's a spigot that yields nice cold water, and you can fill up a water bottle there.

Many people refill water bottles with the filtered water inside the First Aid station, too!

Thanks for that nice list with locations and items available (mostly) below $10! I blew enough money with hotel reservations, and buying an Annual Pass...Food will have to be cheap for me. :P
