we are trying to work out a "skin of our teeth" trip for nov...from what i see, the dining plan probably wouldn't work for us mainly cause i'm diabetic and unless we could split the 2 counter service meals, i'd end up having to get a third meal...so i am figuring 2 counter a day( lightish) and one table service probably lunch if it's cheaper than dinner but would like something other than straight burgers and fries ( bleech, once or twice is ok but everyday i can't take it). usually meals are a big highlight but this time it's eat cheap or don't go so what are you favorite meals on the cheapside?

...i know we will go to trail 's end since we always do and probably will stay at pop...1day at mgm,1 at mk, 2 at ak and 2 at epcot( i think food and wine will still be going on..how expensive is that?)
thanks for any and all suggestions

for a counter service that's not burgers and fries, most places in epcot are great, seeing as they have more "native" type foods. in mk, i love to go to columbia harbor house for counter service. hummus & broccoli slaw sandwich, tuna sand, ham sand, couple salads, chili, new england clam chowder - good stuff. i'm not too familiar with counters at mgm or animal kingdom.

and for lunch sit downs, i would recommend 50's prime time cafe at mgm. such a blast!

i've never used the dining plan, but i think you would be able to use 1 cs for breakfast to split, and another on lunch to split (since you said you'd be doing lighter meals anyway). don't forget about your snack option too. i don't know if that would work out for you, but it's worth checking into.
