Hi all,
Looking for recommendations for my sister and her family. My parents are bringing their camper down to Disney in February and my sister and her hubby and 2 kids were going to stay with them at Ft. Wilderness. After a few times out in the camper, they have decided that it will be just way too crammed. They are looking for something cheap offsite. Any recommendations?
I'm not sure where we will be staying yet, but onsite for sure. Looking for something under $100 a night or so.

Thanks!

They could check out condos on Skyauction - not sure how long your sister is staying, but the condos on Skyauction are rented weekly. Normally, they are around $300 for a week. Also, I would check out Priceline & Hotwire - she can search the areas she is interested in such as Lake Buena Vista, Disney Westgate, etc.

Actually, if you want to stay together and enjoy the rides together using fastpass plus could be an issue.

Offsite guests can only make fastpass plus reservations at the 30 day mark. As an onsite guest you get the privilege at the 60 day mark. I would not want to wait 30 more days if I had the privilege to do it earlier. Also, if you use extra magic hours then that will be an issue, too. Offsite guests don't get this privilege.

Maybe you can find a way to make the camper less crowded. Take something out? Also, maybe an air mattress could be used to give their accomodations at night a better feel if that is an issue.

Also, their commute will probably be longer each day being offsite.

You have some good tips on the camper, etc. Might I add, perhaps the sister could rent a tent site at FW? That being said, we've often found that commutes from close offsite locations to be faster than WDW transportation for sure.

Technically, each Disney campsite is allowed to have up to 10 registered guest at the site. As long as your sisters family does not add over the 10 guest rule for your parents camp site I would suggest registering them as guest in your parents camper. This way they will have access to all the campground amenities, the ability to keep park tickets on one one reservation, which in turn will make fast pass reservations tons easier as everyone can book FP at the same time. Same with ADR's. Also, if Mom an Dad want a night or two off and Grandma and Grandpa are up for babysitting the kids are already registered Disney guest. This also allows for a parking pass/magic bands which will make coming and going to the campsite much more accessible for everyone.

As far as an affordable offsite if this is truly just a place to sleep and shower I would suggest the Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista at 8442 Palm Parkway. Usually, cheep and always clean. Fairly close drive to and from Ft, Wilderness. If they are looking for nicer accommodations, with amenities and a full kitchen I would suggest following halfpintpeggy's advice and check out skyauction for a condo or possibly go with a price line bid or hot wire.
